About me

Hello all! My name is Jayden and I first fell in love with D&D 6 years ago when I offered to DM for a group of close friends. Not long after I realized my passion and love for roleplay, world-building, friendships, and general silliness! Now 6 years, and several campaigns/groups, later my love for D&D has only grown. I have played with both new and experienced players to D&D, and pride myself in my ability to build the confidence of my players in their characters. Aside from D&D I have numerous other hobbies and likes! I am currently reading The Legend Of Drizzt series by RA Salvatore. I am also a small writer, working on D&D projects and a novel. I love my girlfriend, cat, and snake more than anything! I am a bit of a gamer, although I mostly play story driven games now. My dreams/goals right now are: to move to Seattle, pursue my career in writing/D&D, own a boat to sail along the west coast, and open up a D&D shop!

GM Style

Much like the oh-so-memorable Captain Barbosa views the Pirate Code, I view the written rules as guidelines. With that I am a bit in-between the rule-of-cool and rules-as-written DM style. I also like to keep an even mix of roleplay and combat in my campaigns using both theatre-of-the-mind and online battle maps on Roll20. My goal for every campaign is to ensure every player feels fulfilled and important with their character. I also often write extra content into adventures for players who create open-ended backstories to further push the importance of that character and their development in a living fantasy world. I think it is extremely important to know what style of game players are expecting and wanting. I enjoy both roleplay heavy groups, combat heavy groups, and a healthy balance of both in campaigns. I also like to keep communication a key part of groups, as I have found doing so truly keeps everyone satisfied and heard. I encourage all players in my games no matter their experience, gender, sexual orientation, race, etc. I wish to create a truly safe and open space for all as long as they are not hateful or disrespectful toward others.
