About me

My name is Dillon and I am a 35 year old Caucasian, panromantic, heterosexual, cis-gendered male. I know from being who I am that I have lived with many privileges, some of which I might not even realize. I have been an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community since my high school days as a member of the "GSA Club" (Gay Straight Alliance) and have always had many friends who belong to the community. I also consider myself a feminist, and support equal rights for all minority groups, including those who are differently-abled whether that be a result of physical and/or mental condition(s). I am very open in my public life that I have been a longtime sufferer of mental health issues, my first diagnosis came at the age of 5 but, I don't let tat hhold me back. I have been receiving treatment and been stable for quite some time. I have always been nerdy/geeky in personality, if not in looks, this extends to both fiction and non-fiction subjects. I am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction. I also love movies and many other forms of visual media. I like some anime, one punch man, dragon ball, fairy tail, full metal alchemist, berzerk, etc. but, prefer to watch dubbed over subbed content. I listen to a wide variety of music but have a particular love for a genre called industrial, the most famous example of which is Nine Inch Nails, this is also my favorite band. I have always enjoyed role playing games but, only actually got into tabletop role playing games in 2014. I played D&D 5e for about a year before I then decided to try out the DM hat and have been both playing and DMing D&D 5e virtually and in real life for almost 10 years; I have over 18,000 hours actual played time on Roll20 (not from leaving my browser open). I am a moderator on the Dark Sun subreddit. I have also played and enjoyed Shadowrun 5e, Dungeon World, 13th Age RPG and World of Darkness. Anything else just ask, I am an open book.

GM style

I like all aspects of D&D 5e and am fully prepared to bring the players all 3 pillars of the game; that is combat, roleplay and exploration. I am mostly a rules as written DM but I do use the rule of cool when the situation calls for it. I use a lot of custom made maps for battle and just to set the scene, I do some voices, I custom select ambient music for the games, I interview all players before they sit at the table, all my games are inclusive (LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Disability and Mental Health Friendly), I put my heart and soul into DMing and really everything I put my mind to.
