About David

HI, I'm Dave and I have been Playing TTRPG for most of my life, and GMing shortly after my first campaign. I enjoy most the horror aspect of TTRPGs and focus on those, although I also enjoy fantasy from time to time. I believe that this space is open to all, and intend to provide an open table to people from various walks of life. In addition to running games here I am a professional musician, and a streamer with Hangman's Gate RPG.

How David runs games

I come from a background of Storytelling games, and as such place my players in the center spotlight in every game I run. I believe that choices have consequences, and sometimes those consequences aren't always visible at first. I believe in creating opportunities to explore and grow both as fictional characters and as the people behind them. My stories tend to be visceral and dark, but always have pathways to redemption and victory. Most games that I run will be homebrewed settings, and events so each game will be a one of a kind opportunity for the players involved. I take responsibility to avoid the urge to min/max or focus on optimization by tailoring the experience where choices and decision making matter more than stats.
