About Dungeon Keeper Andy

I like to design the game around what vibes best with the players and will build the plot around their interests. I'm quick with improv moments but still like to have an over all plot to things, making me more skilled at sandboxes than linear paths. You can expect a good mix of everything from absurd humor to visceral horror, occasionally in the same scene. Adventure and new companions await in my games. Come have a good time! Custom booking is available and the price subject to change based on what you're looking for!

I became a GM because

At first it was just so my friend group had a DM for games, but as I got into it I realized I just plain enjoyed laying out worlds, plotlines and twists for my friends and other players to explore however they wanted to.

My favorite shows/movies are

I'm not as into shows and movies as I am games. So I'll list those instead. 1: Secret of Mana, used to rent it at least twice a month from the local rental place when I was a kid. 2: Fallout New Vegas. Ain't that just a kick in the head? 3: Arcanum. Its vibe alone shaped my imagination as a kid.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Working as a self employed Handyman, spending time with my family and gaming.

How Dungeon Keeper Andy runs games

Roleplay heavy as well as some character voices. I like to have the story and player choices take the main focus of things. No two campaigns start the same even if they have the same premise. I like making combat a good fit for the players and themes of the game. If its too hard, ease up a bit and visa-versa. There might not be combat every session, but some sessions might be nothing but.

Featured Prompts

I once ran a session...

The campaign was meant to be a revenge mission against someone who killed the party at the end of the first session. The party ended up with ownership of one of the only taverns in a small town. Building a rivalry with the other. They settled down, plot came to them.

My games focus on...

Player choice and exploration. There is usually a plot to follow but if the players don't follow it how I expected I just adapt and move it around to suit how they're playing.

When it comes to voices

I try to focus more on speech patterns and mannerisms over accents. There's only so many accents I can do but the way someone talks and how they handle conversation are endless.

Dungeon Keeper Andy's ideal table

I like to keep things light above table. Give a little time before the game to settle in and chat. Once the game gets going I almost always just let the game flow but I don't just let chaos rule. Respect other players and myself and we'll all have a grand time.

I think metagaming...

Has its place. To me, knowing and using mechanics isn't metagaming. Like knowing trolls are weak to acid and fire, or that somethings might be mimics. But plot/rp related things your PC wasn't there to hear is a bad time.
