About Dark Stormer

Hello, fellow adventurers! I'm not a newcomer to TTRPGs, but I'm not a native English speaker. No worries, though! If you can spare some patience for me not understanding some obscure spice names or unfamiliar bird species, we're in for an amazing experience of mystery and adventure together! With over 10 years of GMing under my belt, I can assure you that the adventure itself won't be a problem. I typically start with basic modules for the early levels and then delve into custom campaigns and mysteries for level 5 and beyond. One important lesson I've learned is that you can become skilled at something you don't initially enjoy doing. That's why I've ventured into paid games. I absolutely love playing and hosting RPG adventures, but I lack the patience required to manage players who aren't fully engaged in the game. If you're investing in this experience, I expect your commitment. If you can't make it to the next session, just let me know. If you're struggling with your character sheet or need help with the system, don't hesitate to ask for assistance. The campaign will go on as scheduled, with or without you, since you're investing in this journey. If you need anything before the game, please reach out to me. While I'll primarily be hosting D&D 5e games here, I also have experience with GURPS, D&D 3.5, and Vampire. If you're interested in a custom setting, feel free to ask if it's possible! I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next table, ready for epic tales and unforgettable moments! Best regards, DarkStormer

I became a GM because

i always loved the idea of not following the rules of the puzzle! if a game have a house in it, and you cant climb to the roof, or you cant go inside, that's is a fine pc game, but in a rpg you do what you want!

People are always surprised when I tell them

you are allowed to be op after lvl 15 XD

When I'm not running games I'm...

playing games or planning the games... or drinking games... or eating... games... i think i have a problem!

How Dark Stormer runs games

Hello, Let's take a different approach to this question: What distinguishes a computer game from a tabletop RPG? While computer games tend to be simpler and more automated compared to RPGs, there's a significant distinction: the presence of a Game Master (GM). Unlike a computer, a GM can offer responses to improvisation and adapt on the fly. In my games, I've grown accustomed to allowing players to bend and even distort the rules as they craft the narrative. I firmly believe that players should have the space to embrace the unexpected and engage in creative storytelling. After all, they are the protagonists of the tale we're weaving together. In this collaborative journey, I'm more than happy to let players embark on wild and unconventional endeavors that might be beyond the scope of everyday reality. Only when the mechanics truly matter do I step in to guide the direction. Remember, we're crafting a shared history, and I'm here to facilitate that adventure!

Dark Stormer's ideal table

full of people that like laugh more then speed run, guys that like to pick disadvantages to make their character unique, guys that want to decide the theme song of the session and keep the play in sync to it.

I love it when a player

solve a puzzle with a better answer of the puzzle itself

I think metagaming...

part of the job, we don't live in a world that we have attack of opportunities, and spells slots, so plenty of those things are ok to say in a game, because if you lived there, you will at least have similar words for it! just don't assume i'm using the same stat block that you just searched!

I think min/maxing...

good, but you need to chose when to use your power... as someone said, with great power comes a TPK!
