Hi! I am 60 years old, retired, married and living in Michigan (USA). I've been addicted to D&D for several years and play and run multiples games/campaigns each week. I am new to StartPlaying. GM style

D&D is all about cooperative story telling. At my table, everyone takes an equal part in the adventure. It is YOUR story. I am there to help you tell it. My players establish group bonds early on thanks to my emphasis on party communications between games. When everyone is working together, the overall experience is seriously FUN. My games focus more on role play than combat. But I do like a good battle. I am very good at helping those new to the game discover how awesome playing D&D with a committed group of adventurers can be. Those who are shy also tend to enjoy my games, because the atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming. I use RAW but believe "fun" is more important. While many of my players would consider me a "chill" DM, I run a tight ship. I do not allow uncooperative behavior. Everyone in the party has to work together, and spotlight hogs are not allowed. Good communication is essential. A long-term, reliable, consistent, fun-for-all campaign is always my goal. I require those wishing to join one of my campaigns to communicate with their fellow players in a dedicated game channel on discord before the first actual game session. I call this my "pre-session-zero." You will get to know your fellow players, and their characters, before we roll our first dice. This allows those who don't mesh with my game style to bow out before they pay for their first session.
