About me
Lifetime gamer, I recently was introduced to DnD after several years of wanting to play but not knowing anyone who did to get me started. I am in the midst of a homebrew campaign for a friend group, have run several short 1-2 shots, and now making the transition to paid services for online players. I take a heavy approach to storytelling and implementing backstories into homebrewed worlds. I play primarily using 5e rules but am always open to a some UA and homebrew changes that I may not already be using!
GM Style
Heavy on storytelling, encourage lots of roleplaying to build out your characters, their decisions, and the world. I primarily will homebrew settings and worlds rather than modules. In terms of gameplay, I aim for a 60/40 split with Combat(60)/Exploration and RP(40) with a healthy dose of puzzles and traps between.

I've played multiple oneshots and short form campaigns with Brian and he's an excellent DM. Mechanically sound (and playtested!) encounters with narrative satisfaction are a wonderful mix. When I was joining a group already playing, Brian helped me come up with a character that fit the world perfectly and had strong reasons to help the party achieve their goals. Whether in game or out, Brian is always happy to talk through any questions about a setting or character and is very approachable. From exorcism missions with dangerous foes to solving entertaining puzzles to help lead a worker revolution in a magical candy factory, I'm always happy to play at Brian's table!
This dm in question is excellent. He yes ands to pretty much everything, while also adding his own twist to the story. As a person who likes to create involved backstories for my characters it makes me beyond happy to have a dm who takes everything I say and uses it for plot points later. I always have a blast with his modules!
There was a really cool moment where my character was having a one on one convo with another player and they were telling me they are replaceable more or less, well I as I was delivering my stone cold reply to them a new track came in and starting to creep up in volume building up the seriousness and intensity of the conversation. I loved that so much.
Brian is an excellent DM. He is great at setting up scenarios that encourage character interaction. He also builds scenarios that are not only entertaining in themselves, but also tie into a larger scale storyline. I recommend this GM for players both new and experienced. His worlds are original, but not convoluted. 10/10
