About Ben MartinMooney
I've been running 5e campaigns for large and small groups for the better part of a decade, with a strong stance towards the Rule of Cool. I both write and stream TTRPGs and place a lot of emphasis on RP in my games, but have been known to enjoy a show-down between NPCs and a power gamer before too. Always open to learning and running games in new systems with a little prep time!

How Ben MartinMooney runs games
I tend to lean toward more roleplay than a simple hack-n-slash campaign, though I enjoy a good battle where players feel like they earned the victory (or managed to escape) by the skin of their teeth. I strive to ensure that every NPC is different from the rest and use regional accents so my players can feel that they've truly crossed a continent. High fantasy is my bread and butter, but I'm flexible about settings if people have especially strong feelings about playing something different. I am a rules lawyer only when they are particularly important to a specific class not becoming broken one way or another. Otherwise, I stick by the rule of cool and reward creative descriptions or tactics (in and out of combat) with advantage, extra damage, etc.
