About me

Hi there, my name is Steven and I love DMing. It is my prime creative outlet. I'm heavily into learning the lore and history of the Forgotten Realms and exploring by running official modules set in it for my players.

GM Style

I love a balanced game that hits on the three pillars of D&D, roleplaying, exploration, and combat, every session. I love seeing my players succeed, but for it to have meaning I believe there has to be a credible risk of failure. I prefer to do all my GM rolls (that don't need to be secret) in the open. Be warned, if the dice say you die, you die. I'll mourn your PC with you and help you roll a new character. That said, one thing I don't love is character hyper-optimization. I prefer PCs based on what you think is interesting from a storytelling perspective, not a game mechanics perspective. That pretty much eliminated most multiclassing but anything else from the Player's Handbook or Xanathar's Guide to Everything is fine by me. I put a lot of work and prep into my sessions, especially sessions 1 and 0. I want everyone to have a great time, but if you decide I am not the GM for you I will be happy to offer refund before session 2.
