About me

Hi, I'm GM Jake, creator of FitQuest, the world's first fitness role playing game! FitQuest fuses D&D 5e and other role playing games to help players level up their strength, constitution, and dexterity. I'm certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer, and I have over a decade of experience practicing various martial arts. Join FitQuest to join a party that will help you have fun while you are held accountable to work out. - "Great for the geek in all of us. Challenge yourself physically while playing a real dnd campaign. DM fitness guru Jake is wonderful to work with... whether you're a fitness junkie or just starting out. Very supportive group 10/10 would recommend to anyone of any fitness level" - Jeff "Fun workout with fun people. I'm already a 5th Ed d&d fan and this helps me get good exercise in." Paul, a FitQuest participant for over 3 years "Such a fun way to work out! Highly recommended! We had a blast." - Vanessa W "Having trouble motivating yourself to get fit? Do you enjoy D&D or other gaming? Ever heard of gamified fitness? Well, here you go. This is my friend, Jake’s, brainchild - FitQuest! My son did this class live in Ithaca for a couple of years and loved it. Now it’s been adapted to an online platform and promises to be a really fun way to get in shape. The instructor, Jake Seegers, is a great guy and a very experienced trainer. Definitely worth a look!" Vanessa A

GM style

I love to propose unique and interesting challenges to my players. I want my players to feel a real threat, but know that though the odds are stacked against them, that I am on their side. Parties that work together and support each other are something I love to foster, and I try to allow players to apart of the world building. I try to find a balance between rails and sandboxes, and my worlds have methods of expanding if players decide to do something unpredictable. I'm working towards Rules As Written, but I'm a long way toward mastering all of the info in the PHB, DMG, spell lists, and additional materials. What I do feel like I do well at is improvisational story telling, and creating story beats that have a blend of humor, horror, awe, excitement, and connection. I often use Homebrew world's, but not always.
