About me

Garrett is a podcast host, of Threat Detected, Threats From Gallifrey and the long-running One Ring AP Threats From Mirkwood. He has written for D&D, Paranoia and Savage Worlds. His games are pulpy with a good amount of roleplaying. If you like jumping out of a moving vehicle onto a horse and hitting the rider with a flaming golf club, you've found the perfect gamemaster. I run for teenagers plus age-wise. I like gaming with kids, but I prefer the older age demographics to avoid the distractions that come with an open age range. I've proven myself to be amongst the best Dungeon Masters in the country by being selected by Baldman Games to repeatedly be selected to run the coveted DDXP slots at GenCon, which are reserved only for the best Dungeon Masters to provide an extraordinary experience for the players.

GM style

Pulp. I love pulp. If you want to try wild crazy ideas, I'll let you take a crack at it. I aim for memorable fun sessions that leave players wanting more. I handle comedic games as well as horror, but no matter what I make sure they are infused with a lot of fun. I've taken a bit of advice from modern indie games turning the narrative on the players so they can participate in world building and deciding how scenes play out without ever having to drop a die,. I may not encourage the most roleplaying, but I appreciate players who bring a strong role playing panache to a game and will encourage that. Otherwise, I try to keep the pace moving in my games. I enjoy casting celebrities as the NPCs of my games. I may not do as many voices as others, but I have an acting background and can channel an actor's essence into every NPC, making every NPC feel unique and alive.
