World of Darkness in Seattle

Vampire: The Masquerade Revised Edition, Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition on Discord

Vampire: The Masquerade Revised Edition

About the adventure

A city divided by water, a city divided by kind, a city divided by the forces of the universe. Seattle is a city that is home to those who remain in the darkness and are trying to keep the balance. Seattle is a city that has been on the razor's edge between the Wyld and the Wyrm says the Garou, Dynamism and Entropy at war with one another says the Awakened, Banality says the Changed, while the Kindred seem to not feel this and contract out with the groups to achieve their desired goals. All sides engaging in this balance seem to understand the necessity of a clandestine war lest the Society of Leopold become involved. When the Hunters arrive all seem to come to a ceasefire and deal with the issue. This game is for anyone that has wanted to play any of the original World of Darkness, Masquerade, Apocalypse, Dreaming, and so on in a less pen and paper style and more of a truly active play style. The active play style will be from the interaction throughout the week through discord, whether plot or social interaction with NPCs or PCs. A usual session will be devoted to solving problems that effect the city, whether through masquerade breaches or personal issues related to being a supernatural. The players' choices will effect the world whether for the better or worse. No matter which side of the balance your character is on they will have opportunities to engage in various plots. These choices can be from just trying to survive the condition and live out your existence as a monster, try to rise to power so that you forget what you are, because you are too busy to think of what being a monster is, or do you sink into being a monster just barely holding on to your sanity and that last little bit of what it means to be more than a beast?

How to prepare

Players do not need to prepare anything for the game.

What I provide

I will bring the rulebook along with pre-generated characters if their is not time to make a character with them. I will also supply a discord server devoted to the setting, and play even when I am not active.

Gameplay details

This game is a play by post game and considered to be active "24/7." Players can interact with one another at anytime on the server provided. The mechanics of this style game is relatively simple. When testing to see if you succeed you simply play rock-paper-scissors whether with me, the story teller, or your fellow players if they are the target. If their is a tie then you compare traits on whether or not a success is achieved, by who ever is higher. If those are tied then it goes to who ever has the higher attribute, and then if those are tied the defender wins. A usual session will be devoted to solving problems that effect the city, whether through masquerade breaches or personal issues related to being vampire. The players' choices will effect the world whether for the better or worse. Safety Tools: I use two major safety tools, X card and lines and veils, with weekly check ins. The X card can be used at any point if a participant is uncomfortable with the content happening in-game. When the X card is used by tapping the card or typing an “X” in the chat, the group can change, rewind, or skip the content. Lines: are subjects that are never brought up or into the game, any player may add to the list. The current lines are: Sexual Assault of any kind. Veils: are subjects that are alluded to but never directly brought up or into the game, any player may add to this list as well. The current veils are: domestic abuse. Weekly Check Ins: is where I ask the group before each game if there is any Lines or Veils that the players would like to add to the list whether on a permanent basis or temporarily considering life happens and we are not fully active in each other's life.

How will character creation work

The system does not have a level system in the normal sense, but characters will be considered beginners. If players wish to pre-make characters it would be appreciated, but needs to be confirmed by me. There will be pre-generated characters available, but I will assist in character creation if desired and there is time before the game.

Players can expect
