About the adventure
FoundryVTT: basics of foundry + essential modules foundry as a player hosting (Forge, Oracle) modules & automation Landing pages & interactive maps Game prep (maps & lighting and journals) 5E specific PF2E specific (I'm still learning PF2E specifics so this one is for the future) Accessibility (things like live text, screen sharing, etc) more (just ask and I'll see what I can do) I'd also like to offer Roll20 workshops on: basics APIs and macros and quality of life optimization (roll20 now allows webp!) and basic landing pages dynamic lighting and walls how I set up mine In the summer, I might start offering full-on lessons if there is interest! I have expertise in both. Hands on means I will have a login for you on my Foundry/Roll20 so that you can work with it. IE, you will be working with me to install and configure modules/APIs so that you get the hands on experience for yourself, as I guide you through the steps. (Though the latter might be for one-on-one lessons!) Requirements: a way to hear me, and that you join my discord as it's hosted there. Mic/cam not required. I work with a mute player so I can handle text-only! For safety purposes, the voice chat will be recorded via Craigbot. Also includes asking me for help in my discord or direct message or help thread on SPG. I also share free prep with gms for one shots that I've run in both of these vtts, which may include maps I've drawn! Discord: https://discord.gg/8RtNxxG4G6
Additional Details
How to prepare
You will need: š¹ Discord š¹ Roll20 Pro š¹ Join my Discord: https://discord.gg/8RtNxxG4G6 š¹ Let me know you're signing up for the Roll20 workshop. š¹ Make a Roll20 room and link me to it. I will join, and will need you to add me as a GM. I will be working with you one-on-one, to get you set up. š¹ If we are working by voice, you will need a microphone and a way of hearing me. š¹ If we are working by text, you simply need Discord.
What I provide
I bring: š¹ My enthusiasm and love of DMing. š¹ My expertise with Roll20. š¹ My own Roll20 pro account, which I've used to learn APIs and Macros. š¹ A desire to see my fellow DMs succeed and up their game.
Gameplay details
Features you will learn to use include: š¹ A combat tracker script, which shows who's next and highlights the current player active in the turn order. š¹ A script/macro combo that allows you to select groups of monsters (or PCs) and roll saves for them, with the click of a button. š¹ A script/macro combo that allows you to select groups of monsters (or PCs) and roll them into initiative, with the click of a button. š¹ A script/macro combo that allows you and your players to assign status condition markers, at the click of a button, with the use of a drop-down. š¹ A script/macro combo that allows your players to make themselves a blank character sheet without relying on the GM. š¹ A macro that allows players to roll into initiative with the click of a button, through the use of a macro. š¹ A script/macro combo which allows you to quickly pull up a monster's attacks at the click of a button. š¹ A timer script for when you and your players take breaks. š¹ A script/macro combo that takes tally of group loot. š¹ A script that shares a welcome message every time a player enters the Roll20. š¹ An script that allows you to apply damage to a target automatically, after the damage is rolled. š¹ A script/macro combo that applies elevation to a target -- such as flight or being on a ledge. š¹ A script that automatically moves dead monsters to the map layer (can be configured to do other things with them). š¹ A script that allows you to roll blind checks to the Dungeon Master. It whispers all checks to the DM. š¹ A script that allows you (and your players) to import characters from D&D Beyond. It takes some work, and the sheet is not perfect, but it does its job. š¹ A script which allows you to easily measure out AoE effects. š¹ Macros for potions and other rolls. Other tips and techniques I will share: š¹ Safety cards that can be dragged out easily and anonymously. This is a simple matter of setting up the tokens, but it has worked perfectly for tables I am a part of. š¹ Multi-sided tokens for monsters and map changes. š¹ Learning how to create an interactive world map, which will whisper information about locations to a player (can also be used for quick reference on landing pages!) š¹ Quick dice-rolling for DMs and players. š¹ Working with mute players in Roll20. š¹ Working with dyslexic players in Roll20. š¹ Running live text games in Roll20.

How will character creation work
Character creation isn't really a part of this, but do bring a D&D Beyond character sheet, so that you can learn to use the D&D Beyond importer (if that is part of what you want to learn. If not, I'll provide one.
