About the adventure

When an elder seer of the swamp village of Urzin is kidnapped by soldiers of the Dwendalian Empire, the village's leadership look to a group of rookie adventurers to rescue her before it's too late. This adventure introduces players to the Xhorhas region of Wildemount, as seen on Critical Role, and takes characters from 1st to 3rd level. It's a race against time to traverse the wild Brokenveil Marsh and rescue the seer from the imperial garrison at Fort Venture. Player characters should be prepared to get their boots muddy! An overview of the setting will be given in session 0, so no prior experience or knowledge is required. New players are welcome. This setting features a diverse cast of NPCs representing a variety of backgrounds and identities. This game is DMed by a queer person, who welcomes members of the LGBTQIA community, and allies, to the virtual table. Each session includes a 10 minute break around halfway through. Discord will be used for voice chat, and video for those who wish to be seen. Roll20 will be used for maps. How to prepare

You will need a stable internet connection and microphone for voice chat. Webcam for video chat is optional. You will require free accounts on Discord and Roll20.

Gameplay details

Gameplay: Unwelcome Spirits focuses on the planning and execution of a daring rescue mission, as well as the traversal of dangerous swampland wilderness. A hex map is used for overworld exploration, and there are various encounters (combat and non-combat) to be found along the way. How will character creation work

Characters will begin at 1st level. Session 0 will include a primer on the setting and time for character creation. However, players are welcome to create characters ahead of time.
