About the adventure

The original One-Shot adventure from 1982, as written by Gary Gygax, set in a remote mountain stronghold. Players must work their way through the wilderness to locate and finally infiltrate the cultists' temple to discover the secrets hidden within. "Approved for use with Advanced D&D Game", we will play with an adaptation in 5th Ed. D&D. A gritty and unforgiving scenario meant to challenge even resourceful players.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need a discord account for game correspondence between sessions and to receive updates and announcements. Players will also need a roll20 account for session play, for which a webcam and/or mic is helpful but not required. If you want to use your own dice, you will need to be able to show your rolls on screen, but roll20 has a nice in browser dice roller built in for free.

What I provide

I will provide all necessary materials for play via roll20, including maps, tokens, character sheets, sound effects, and back ground music. .pdf files of updated character sheets and handouts will be available via a private discord server between sessions, and any art materials I develop during game for or with any players will be shared with all players in the same way.

Gameplay details

Wilderness adventures followed by a short dungeon crawl, with over 100 encounters this module could potentially take more than one 4 hour session to complete to your satisfaction, there is quite a bit of avoidable combat, but fatalities are a real possibility for Player Characters and NPCs alike in this short adventure by the original Dungeon Master. Expect gritty realism, save or die rules, and difficult but solvable puzzles, in the slightly cleaner 'Swords and Sorcery' style of a PG-13 adventure.
