About the adventure

When the Grey Ones came out of the rip in the world with their Othering Machines and started changing the very fabric of our reality, the peoples of the world thought that sealing themselves in giant domed cities for a few years was a good idea. With an unholy mix of magick and science, the denizens of the great hub city of Nexus closed themselves off from the ever-mutating world around them. 500 years later, they're still there, but now the magick has gone sour and the cracks are starting to appear. Nexus is a city lost in time and space. Anachronisms run rampant and chaos reigns. If you're looking for a big playground campaign with seeds in 70s Glam Rock, Simon R Green novels, and the End of the Gorram World, than Welcome to Nexus.

How to prepare

A mic and access to Roll20 is necessary; webcams are nice but not required. Handouts will be given out for background on the world, but not required reading. All necessary documents, including character sheets, will be housed in Roll20.

What I provide

I'll bring the rules and the work and the story and the fun and the silly voices. You just bring yourselves and a willingness to play. I also have a Pro account through Roll20, so I'm able to pass the special effects like dynamic lighting, tokens with darkvision, transferrable character sheets, and slick background music on to my players.

Gameplay details

The campaign will always kick off with a Session 0 where lines and veils are laid out by player and GM alike. The baseline rating for the campaign is PG-13 for language and violence, but things can be kicked up or down at the player's requests. This is a game heavy on roleplaying and storytelling and rather light on rules.

How will character creation work

Characters begin at level 2 and character creation can be done beforehand by the players or as part of Session 0 for players unsure of how to the process works. I'm also happy to carve aside a bit of time for one-on-one assistance with character creation.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Open to all
