About the adventure

Hello Adventurers! This campaign will span from level 1 to level 20! Starting with the adventure: Waterdeep: Dragonheist -- "Famed explorer Volothamp Geddarm needs you to complete a simple quest. Thus begins a mad romp through the wards of Waterdeep as you uncover a villainous plot involving some of the city’s most influential figures. A grand urban caper awaits you. Pit your skill and bravado against villains the likes of which you’ve never faced before, and let the dragon hunt begin!" In which you'll adventure along the streets of Waterdeep, learning all about the daily life of the guilds and people of the town, and a heist adventure leading up to level 5! After that we will jump into Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage, Also known as Undermountain! -- "In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern." This adventure will bring you to level 20, and you'll each acquire your own specific Legendary item! I add my own bit of homebrew in bolstering up the campaign, keeping true to the lore of the Forgotten Realms and entwinning backstories into the main quests! This is a mega dungeon but there is a ton of roleplay and story and lore to dig deep into, and lots of opportunity to escape back up for a break and some good old town activity, and homebrew sessions!

How to prepare

If you have a specific character in mind you can prepare by starting a google doc backstory and making a character on D&D beyond using standard array or point buy. No prep is needed for session 0 as that is its main purpose, to prepare. Please come with a good mic and a quiet setting to provide each player with an enjoyable experience. Video is optional.

What I provide

I bring full access to D&D beyonds character creator with all content unlocked. A foundry system and detailed maps and tokens, voice acting and backstory inclusion. I can also assist in creating custom pop out tokens, ai artwork, or backstory creation. In game modules there are over 100, I will discuss each option during session 0, from spell customization, sound effects, graphics, custom dice, and player sheets and tokens!

Gameplay details

Players are always welcome to step away and whisper me directly if the gameplay ever gets out of hand but in the years of doing this very few scenes get graphic enough to upset any players and I try my best to make sure all players are comfortable during any module events, and adjust any events as requested. Safety tools and other modules are in place to allow anonymous requests as well to stop playing or pause or skip scenes. My table is very open to all people! feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

How will character creation work

A session 0 will be held with detailed creation assistance! Each player will get their own individual time to create a character while i discuss the setting and expectations and rules. After that we will review the characters and go over any options or rules you need to discuss. Then we will try to get as close to a backstory setup as possible. If players complete all of this we can jump into roleplay but often session 0 is just a discussion and setup. I will detail the world with tokens and maps if you provide detailed backstories to give you a proper introduction and make you feel at home in the setting. Later on personal backstories will intertwine with the story itself and loop your interest into the Undermountain! All characters will start in Waterdeep, but you can be from anywhere, even other realms of existence, I'm very open to flavor and homebrew additions.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: High
  • Experience Level: Open to all
