About the adventure

A vast and secret hoard lies in wait, hidden somewhere in the wondrous and magical City of Splendors. Powerful, desperate forces seek the covetous prize. Only the most clever and resourceful of adventurers could possibly find it first. Will that be you? Welcome aboard the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist train! Destination: fun (there are no trains in Waterdeep, I'm so sorry) This is an official Dungeons & Dragons adventure set in the most famous city on the Sword Coast (and honestly, all of the Forgotten Realms). This campaign is for levels 1-5, and it's perfect for you if: • You're a new player wanting to try out D&D, or any TTRPG, for the first time • You're a veteran player wanting to try out a new character • You're a DM who thinks "Please, for the love of the GODS, let me be a player just once!" • You love urban fantasy and all the intrigue it entails • You love strategic combat with mortal AND social peril! • You love navigating the criminal underbelly and noble upper-crust of society (sometimes at the same party) • You love money (Mr. Krabs voice intensifies)

How to prepare

Players will need a: • Computer with a basic camera/webcam • Decent mic • Dndbeyond.com account (free) • Discord account (free) • Roll20 account (free) • Fun-lovin', ass-kickin', rootin'-tootin' attitude-in'

Gameplay details

Safety tools will be discussed during our session zero, and will include a PDF for each player to mark their Lines and Veils. I will check in with everyone periodically throughout the campaign, but I also welcome any player to inform me at any time if something crosses a line or becomes uncomfortable in a session. This can be done in the middle of a session through a private Discord message or between sessions if it occurs to someone later that something didn't sit well with them. Gameplay is a balanced blend of roleplay, combat, and exploration encounters directly from the module and/or custom designed around the characters being played. I homebrew NPCs, magic items, and monsters to match the characters and backstories my players create!

How will character creation work

Characters begin at level 1, but will be level 2 after the first session! I offer D&D Beyond character creation with all sourcebooks shared. I will add each player to a discord server and provide detailed guidelines about character creation there, and will also be available for direct message conversations. I encourage all players to come prepared with as much backstory or character creation completed as they want before session 0, but there will be time in that initial session to hash out details, ask questions, and even build the characters step by step together if any help is needed or wanted!

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
