    About the adventure

The Great Sword Coast Campaign is a West Marches Campaign presented by DM Bee, where you the player are invited to partake in a story-rich and character-driven narrative. Games are run at rotating schedules multiple days a week, and players may opt-in to games alongside different players at your convenience. Progress with one DM carries over to the other in this shared campaign, and you can expect to meet more than just your "regular weekly" 5-person party within our small community of about a dozen active players. The Campaign is set in and around the Sword Coast, where our adventurers are thrust into the beginnings of a major uprising force of evil, the Cult of Dragons. The Cult of Dragons is a global force of nefarious evil dragon worshipers bent on bringing about a new world order, where evil chromatic dragons rule the lands. They have been a prominent threat to the Sword Coast for many years, but recently, their efforts have become more organized, and their efforts and ambitions, even grander: they wish to summon Tiamat, queen of all evil dragons, back into the Material Plane. In response. the five major factions of the realm have banded together to form an army called The Sword Coast Rebellion, and have enlisted YOU into the unfolding conflict that is the War of the Cult of Dragons, with the fate of the Sword Coast, and possibly the world, hanging in the balance. “We will not stand idly by while the Cult continues to lay siege to our brethren. While we come from all flocks of life- we stand here united as one people, not as Waterdhavians, but as the Sword Coast herself!” - The Sword Coast Rebellion.

    How to prepare

Aside from your character sheet, token, and details, you are encouraged to show up 30 minutes early, if possible. This is so that if we need to discuss any details before we start, we can do so. Also for the beginning of the campaign, I ask that you give me at least one significant NPC your character interacts with within the city, for roleplay purposes.

    What I provide

Our sessions will be played on Roll20 and Discord. We shall have maps, tokens, and music.

    Gameplay details

We shall also be implementing the safety tool of the X-Card! Basically if there's anything that makes you uncomfortable, you can either drag the “X” token onto the map, or message me an "X", either in Discord privately or in the roll20 chatroom. For more information, read here

    How will character creation work

Your level will be based on where we are in the story/timeline. 1. Stats will be assigned via Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or Point Buy (Standard 27 Points) 2. Certain 5e Rulebooks are available for choosing your race and class. Core Rule Books: - Player's Handbook - Dungeon Master's Guide - Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Xanathar's Guide to Everything - Volo's Guide to Monsters - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything - Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes - Elemental Evil Player's Companion - Eberron: Rising from the Last War 3. Flanking advantage and standard weight limit encumbrance will be used. 4. Banned Races: Variant Human, Flying Races, Dragonmarks 5. Banned Alignments: Any of the Evils 6. All races get a free Feat at level 1, this feat must not have a stat increase. 7. All characters must devote themselves to at least one of the Non-Evil Faerunian Deities. (or any other canon Faerunian deity) Clerics are allowed to play a different domain rather than the suggested one per deity. Your faith doesn't have to be very deep, just that you believe in one. Warlocks are allowed to choose from Evil deities as their patron, but must still be of neutral or good alignment themselves. 8. All characters must choose a place of residence in one of Waterdeep's many city districts from #Waterdeep-districts, each of which gives a permanent bonus to a character. A character may change their place of residence, but not their residence bonus. 9. All characters may optionally be a member of any of Faerun’s five major factions from the-five-factions. A character may change their faction, however will have to restart their accumulated renown. Important to note is that each faction gives a character one free revive. 10. All characters have been conscripted into the Drakenscourge Resistance. This serves as Waterdeep's official army against the Cult of the Dragon. Kindly include such in your character's backstories.

    Players can expect

    • Combat/Tactics: Medium
    • Roleplay: High
    • Puzzles: Low
    • Experience Level: Open to all
