About the adventure

Undisclosed Ordeals is a one-shot adventure written and designed by yours truly. Set in the frozen north, during Auril's everlasting winter, this story takes the characters from Bryn Shander to Good Mead, and focuses around a supernatural-mystery style plot. This game is designed and balanced for tier 1 characters (characters of 1st-4th level). Adventure Summary: "With the Frostmaiden’s grasp over Icewind Dale crushing spirits and snuffing out hope, the frozen north is a dismal place. No one has answers, and no one can say for sure when Auril’s curse will be lifted, so it’s only to be expected that political devilment seems to have thrived in these times. When a wealthy merchant in Bryn Shander requests help on behalf of a friend, who knows what long hidden secrets they’ll uncover along the way."

How to prepare

As this game takes place through both Roll20 and Discord, a Roll20 account is essential, as is a working microphone and set of headphones. To promote smooth gameplay, I ask players to have their characters either imported, chosen, or created at least 12 hours before the start of the game (those who join after this deadline are obviously exempt from this, though I would still ask to have them ready ASAP so we can start on time and not keep the rest of the group waiting).

What I provide

During the game, players will have access to my full collection of books on Roll20. I have most of the core 5e books, as well as a number of Kobold Press publications, in my compendium. Additionally, all of the maps used in this session will be ones that I have constructed my self in either Inkarnate or Dungeon Painter Studio.

Gameplay details

This game contains mentions of undead, themes of isolation, and descriptions of injury. If you are unsure about any of the themes mentioned here, please feel free to message me directly to ask about adventure adjustments.

How will character creation work

This game is open to characters of 1st to 4th level. Character importing in roll20 is open to those who have already have their characters prepared, though a selection of pre-made characters will also be available in-game for those who wish to use them. Stats for characters should be decided using standard array or point-buy. Any official character options from Wizards of the Coast are allowed. As this is an Icewind Dale campaign, characters created with content from 'Knuckleheads & Other Such Curiosities: A Travelers’ Guide to Icewind Dale' will also be accepted without question. Additionally, blank character sheets will be available for those who wish to make use of my Roll20 compendium and charactermancer. If you choose this option, your character should be completed by the 'PC Deadline' mentioned below.
