About the adventure

The land of Barovia has fallen under a terrible curse. Can you save these poor people from their wretched fate? We are about halfway through this adventure but there is still a lot of story left to tell. Hi, I'm Katy, and I will be your Game Master for this adventure. I've taken the much-beloved hardcover module Curse of Strahd and made some tweaks, adjustments, and additions. Using content from third parties, older editions, and some original material of my own creation, I've expanded this module to culminate at level 15. The campaign will probably take two years to complete, possibly longer. This is a dark horror campaign. We will be using Saftey Tools to ensure everyone's enjoyment, but I do expect everyone to lean into the horror aspects and keep the tone serious. We will be using Milestones to level up. Any material printed by Wizard's for player use for 5th edition is available for use, as well as a collection of third-party material I have cultivated. Sessions will be 3 hours with a short break somewhere near the midpoint. Even if you have played or run Curse of Strahd before, I encourage you to apply. This game is LGBTQ+ friendly

How to prepare

You will need a discord account, a Forge account, a D&D Beyond account, a decent headset/mic set up, and a quiet place to play. Distractions are highly discouraged. Background noise needs to be minimal to none. You do NOT need a Foundry account, nor do you need to have purchased anything on D&D Beyond Sign up for Forge - https://forge-vtt.com/

What I provide

I have the Foundry game all set up, I have the maps, tokens, handouts, and player aids for the game. I also have set up a D&D Beyond importer in the game to bring your characters from DDB to Foundry. I have purchased most everything on D&D Beyond that you would need to build a character, and you will have access to all of that.

Gameplay details

This campaign features themes of abuse, child abuse, animal abuse, gaslighting, body horror, and isolation. We will NOT be seeing any sexual assault or other harassment of that nature. We will be using several RPG Saftey Tools: X, N, and O cards, Lines and Veils, and Green Plus Great More. All of these tools and themes will be discussed during Session 0.

How will character creation work

Players are encouraged to create a character concept to bring to Session 0. Characters will be finalized then. We start at level 1. Characters need to be created on D&D Beyond and are welcome to use any character options available there.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
