Tyranny of Dragons: A D&D 5e Adventure

About the adventure

**LGBTQ Friendly** **Beginner Friendly** Come join us in *Faerun*, a world of magic and wonder, where simple folk who rise to the occasion can become legendary heroes in their own time. ...or get eaten by dragons... Maybe both... This long campaign will take player characters from 1st to about 17th level. Along the way, we will traverse much of the known lands of Faerun, oppose evil cultists and wizards, and develop allies among the powerbrokers of the Sword Coast. Oh, did I mention dragons? Yes, there will be dragons. Our table is anchored by three dedicated players who have finished a short campaign together (LMoP), and are excited to see this new adventure to the end. I can confidently assure new party members that you will find a warm welcome to our game.

How to prepare

You will need at minimum: (along with a computer and internet connection) 1. An account on Roll20 (free) 2. An account on Discord (free) I highly recommend using an external mic and headphones during the sessions. Sometimes feedback/echoing is a problem without them.

What I provide

Players can access content from core rulebooks and some additional content thru my Roll20 game and my campaign on D&D Beyond. So basically, you don't even have to purchase the Player's Handbook, unless you really want a hardcopy. As Game Master, I will handle all the set up of tokens, maps, and handouts on the virtual tabletop (Roll20). If you've never played on Roll20, don't worry. It's pretty user friendly, and totally web based - you don't need to download anything. A bonus; you can access the game content even when I'm not logged in. I will also maintain a dedicated private text channel on Discord for in-game and out-of-game use.

Gameplay details

A "Lines and Veils" document will be posted in the private Discord text channel dedicated to this table on my Discord server. Players may access this at any time. During Session 0, we will add any necessary items to the "Lines and Veils," and discuss how each player defines a "fun game," i.e. what motivates them to come back to the table. We will also begin developing the player characters' backstories (this will be a warm-up exercise for several sessions). New players are welcome. If they join the table after session 0, they can expect to meet with me on Discord/Roll20 before their first game in order to cover Session 0 details and fine tune their character.

How will character creation work

Characters will start the campaign at 1st level. Players may use the character creation tools on Roll20 (recommended), or D&D Beyond (though I don't have as much content to share on that site). If new players request, I can meet with them before their first session to help/fine tune their new character.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
