About the adventure

Nestled in the palisade mountains, the city of Grey home is not like other cities, it's citizens have always had it hard, food although grown locally and abundant is not for its citizens, but instead caravanned north the Great gate to feed the dwarf guardians that protect the city from an invasion force of orcs, the city has always been a target of the green skins, and for as long as anyone can remember the iron fist dwarf clan have kept the gates closed from invaders, the other kingdoms outside the palisade mountain range refuse to assist grey home in its struggle, as orcs have invaded their lands also, a warband led by Oggrog The Manflayer, has been terrorizing the vale lands for several years. The isolation that for years made grey home special is not working against the city and its people, King Thandar, ruler of grey home has recently died, with no legitimate heir to replace him, the leaders city quarters have formed a council of elders to rule and keep the kings law in place, but riots over food shortages and taxes have the people of grey home at each others throats. You are just another person in the city that lives day to day on whatever food you can find, work in the city is rare as not many merchants have much gold left, only the city guard are hiring but the townsfolk in general hate them, and nobody can understand why all the food is fed to those fat dwarf's in the great gate. Something must change, otherwise in a few short months nobody will be alive for the orcs to enslave. Hi my name is cobbs, and i love heavy rpg games, in fact, troubles at Grey home, has few if any battle maps, i prefer theater of mind., adventures will not be thrown into your laps and players, you will have to read handouts and chat to the many npc's that make greyhome their home. id ask that you read the setting before writing a backstory.

How will character creation work

What level will the characters be? probably level 1, but this can be decided by the players in session 0, id like some time after character creation to mold each player into the setting. I will ask each person to read the setting, read a few locations or npc's and weave their character into the story, you will have a much more interesting time rather than " im new to the city and know nobody""
