About the adventure
Join the crew of the Deepnight Revelation, a decommissioned military cruiser repurposed for scientific exploration. Your mission is to investigate a strange signal far outside of Charted Space! Are you a mission scientist? An engineer? Captain of the ship? Ground assault grunt? No matter your skill set, the Deepnight Revelation has a spot for you! ----------------------- This is a sci-fi exploration campaign using the Mongoose Traveller 2nd edition rules and the Deepnight Revelation campaign. Traveller is a more realistic sci-fi system, but not really hard sci-fi. You can use Firefly as a touchstone. The players can take on various roles throughout the ship, from the command crew to the science team to grunts on away missions. If the players want command positions, they will be in charge more of the day-to-day operation of the ship and may have to handle crew drama. If the players want grunt positions, they will largely be transported from adventure to adventure. So the pace of the campaign is entirely in your hands. If you've ever wanted to play in a space exploration campaign, this is your chance!

How to prepare
Mic is important, webcam is less so, but encouraged. You will be asked to read a basic summary of the rules, but the more you read, the better. I intend to run everything through Discord for video chat and other communication and Foundry VTT for character sheets and rolling.
What I provide
I have everything needed to run the game, including the VTT character sheets, rules, and maps. You just need to show up.
Gameplay details
Gameplay: A lot is determined by what the players want to do. You could turn this into a political intrigue game on the ship, a combat simulator in alien environments, an investigation/mystery, or even a logistics simulator (which is what one of my groups did) Safety: The primary safety tool used is our words. If something is making you uncomfortable, let me or the group know and I'll change it. We can discuss it during session 0 (or just in messages before then), and if I stumble upon something else, just X-card it. We can also discuss it after Knowledge: Beginners are welcome, though I expect people to at least be able to read a brief rundown of the rules beforehand. The less time I spend going over the rules, the more time you get to actually play the game.

How will character creation work
Traveller uses a unique Lifepath character creation system in which you can't really predict what kind of character you'll end up with. You have some ways to control it, but it's a fun minigame in and of itself. You then take the character you generated and try to make it work. If your character is particularly poorly-rolled, we can work on other benefits your character has (narrative or mechanical, whatever's interesting)
