Do you have what it takes…? System: D&D 5E Setting: Tomb of Horrors (dungeon) Platform: Foundry VTT and Google Meet (camera preferred, but not required) Date & Time: October 16, 23, 30 (Sundays) 1-6 pm (Mountain Daylight Time, GMT -6) Players Needed: 3-5 Starting Level: 8th level Requirements: Never played Tomb of Horrors (any edition), D&D 5E experience preferred, new players welcome if you can manage an 8th level character, you will need a free Forge account (https://forge-vtt.com), Discord, D&D Beyond Plot: Delve into the tomb of the demilich, Acererak, and destroy him before he destroys all life! Background: You come from a future version of the world Oerth. Only a few people still survive. Tim the Enchanter used magic to divine the source of this pestilence and he discovered a dark wizard named Acererak is at the center of it all. Somehow the lich has merged with the Negative Material Plane and can create and control undead anywhere in the Multiverse!!! In a last ditch effort to save all of creation, Tim the Enchanter constructed the Time Bender. This device would allow up to 5 people to travel through time and space to the past in an attempt to thwart Acererak before he can merge with the Negative Material Plane. Info: I'm looking for 4-5 experienced players that have NEVER played the Tomb of Horrors and have never watched videos with spoilers concerning the Tomb of Horrors. The Tomb of Horrors is an old "deathtrap" dungeon from 1975. It has been updated for every edition. We are playing the version that came in the Tales of the Yawning Portal book for 5E. Please be honest. If you know about the Tomb beyond it is the tomb of a lich named Acererak, please don't apply. The Tomb is 99% puzzles and traps and problem solving and 1% combat (if that). This is a thinking person's game. It is actually more like a board game now that I think about it. It is just as much of a challenge to players as it is to your characters. If you are not interested in this sort of game, please don't apply. I plan to run this adventure for 3 sessions, however, if we aren’t finished and everyone is having fun, we can continue.We will schedule the game as soon as we have enough players (at least 3). How to prepare

Players must create characters ahead of time, join Discord (BiggusBeardus#3228), set up a free Forge account (hosting for Foundry), webcams for google meet are preferred but not required. Must have a headset and mic with the ability to mute.

What I provide

This is an online game using Foundry VTT. I have set up an interactive map with animations, lighting, sound, and art. I will bring a good attitude and I expect the same from players.

Gameplay details

Characters: I want you to make the most super optimized character you can think of that fits the following parameters: 8th level, non-evil, anything on D&D Beyond is fair game, EXCEPT Acquisitions Inc., The Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, and the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica. I have all the rule books and I will share a campaign link once you have joined the group. You can roll ability scores: roll 4d6, drop the lowest. Rolls must be made in Discord using the !randchar command in our game chat. Once you have 6 scores, if the total of all your modifiers isn’t at least +5 you may reroll (all six). You may continue to roll until your modifiers reach +5. You cannot pick and choose from different roll groups, you must reroll all 6 scores each time. Or you can use the Standard Array: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. You get MAX hp every level. You start with "starting equipment" plus the following: 5 Common Potions of Healing, 2 Greater Healing Potions, 2 Supreme Healing potions (healing potions heal the maximum amount, no roll needed), 3 uncommon magic items, 2 rare magic items, and 1 very rare magic item. You each have a bag of holding and 2000 gp to spend on any other equipment (no, you can't buy more magic items, except common healing potions in the PHB), and the PARTY (not each of you) shares a Limited Rod of Resurrection (it has 5 charges and works just like a Rod of Resurrection, but it doesn’t recharge once the charges are expended). Choose your items wisely.

How will character creation work

There is no Session Zero for this game. There's not much to discuss. You don't need a background or backstory for this game. It will not come into play. This is a short game (only 3 sessions). The character creation details posted here are all you need to know. This is a straightforward game that SHOULD be challenging to you as a player more so than your character. Follow the character creation guidelines posted here and you will be good to go. If you roll ability scores you must do it via my Discord server. Contact me on Discord (BiggusBeardus#3228) and I will invite you to my D&D Beyond campaign so you can have access to all the books. Characters need to be completed before joining the game.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
