About the adventure

Set in the world of Eberron, the whole of existence is at stake. Players will take control of adventurers recruited for a last ditch effort to put an end to a death curse that plagues all the peoples of the world. In their quest, the party will encounter an open world where their actions have consequences both good and bad. Mysterious cults, daring exploration, and brave delving into the dark all stand as challenges to the group as they progress through the adventure. Players of all types should find something to sink their teeth into in my game. Combat, role-playing, and strategy all have their merits as long as they serve the story of the heroes and their quest. Every encounter will answer a dramatic question of what the group intends to accomplish while exploring the motivations of the various other factions at play. Clever play will always be rewarded, and indeed will be required to meet your characters goals and those of the party. This adventure plays as more of a campaign, with 10+ sessions needed to complete the adventure in its entirety, depending on player choice and engagement. Players should expect some off-game communication through email or discord in an effort to keep them fresh in the mindset of the adventure and the goals there-in.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players should understand their characters abilities and the dice rolls required to make the various checks their characters will be making in game. Games will be run on Roll20.net, and a free account there will be required to play. A mic will also be required to communicate in real time over Discord, where free accounts are available. Familiarity with the D&D 5e Players Handbook will be a plus.

What I provide

I will bring a fun and concerted effort to include all players into the game and engage them through the online interface. Game materials will be readily available through Roll20, including digital maps and handouts, images, and in game information.

Gameplay details

There is a fair amount of exploration tied to the adventure as well as puzzle solving mixed with some combat. Sessions will have various encounters depending on the decisions of the group and direction they take. As always, player preference will be kept in mind when determining encounter type with an effort for all players to be engaged as often as possible. Combat is always an option, but often not always the best. Jokes and one liners are to be expected occasionally, as long as they do not interrupt or injure the narrative of the story to be played out at the table.

How will character creation work

Characters will be 1st level with rapid early leveling. Creation should be before the first session through communication with myself and the other players via email or discord. Players will be encouraged to engage in their characters backgrounds and connect with those of the other players as much as possible in order to create a more cohesive party. Balance, while important, is not required for success for smart and clever players.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
