About the adventure

🟣Open-world sandbox setting🟣 🟣Goal driven leveling up system🟣 🟣Empahsis on caravan growth and migrant travel🟣 Inspired by caravan-based Oregon Trail-like games, and open-world RPGs like Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Breath of the Wild, Through the Violet Haze is my take on a fantasy open-world setting, full of strange lands and ruins to explore, wonderful NPCs to interact with, and many mysteries and stories to tell using the rules of the oldest fantasy rpg. This will be a long-term level 1-20 campaign, with characters traveling from place to place, and experiencing many types of adventure sites to explore before packing up and leaving again in their growing caravan. Over time, your simple caravan will grow with more recruitable NPCs to help you on your journey, pets and mounts, and upgrades to your wagon. This isn’t just about yourself becoming better with time, but building up your moving base too. Leveling up will be done using my goal-driven rules for the campaign, with players choosing three goals at the beginning of the adventure site, and leveling up once they accomplish 2/3 of their goals before the caravan leaves the location. This promotes players to build the character design that they want and can level them up in many different ways. Want to be a non-combatant character? Build a scout character who levels up through exploration. Want to be a villain-type role? Chose the antagonist goal. Want to be the party cook? We have a goal for that! There is no railroading in this campaign, everything is dictated by the player's choices on which side or main quest to pursue. Every adventure site you will journey to is entirely different from the rest, with changes in the environment, adventure theme, types of people to interact with, and much more. Every location is a sandbox-style map I created in Inkarnate, each one taking many hours to design. With the Violet Haze constantly changing the barren land, no location site will be similar to each other. Let the good times roll!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need a working microphone and would be advised to check out the short player's handbook I created for the campaign with the caravan travel and goal based leveling up rules. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DKebyYRCA_qnzAu9UlfxJdjWfqj9s7Sa69QCN29UYFY/edit?usp=sharing

What I provide

I provide art and custom-made maps for all the adventure sites and locations within. I provide background music through the Discord app, and I have access to all the books and many third-party content. We will be using Discord to set up our game calls and to discuss the game between sessions, and roll20 to play.

Gameplay details

Players can expect an emphasis on caravan-based travel and exploration. While there will be plenty of monsters to find and fight, there is more focus on interacting with the strange and unexplored world around you and finding stories within it. To see if the new caravan and goal-driven rules are good for you, the player's handbook can be found by copying and pasting this link to bring up its google doc:(https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DKebyYRCA_qnzAu9UlfxJdjWfqj9s7Sa69QCN29UYFY/edit?usp=sharing)
