About the adventure

Welcome Agent, If you're reading this message it means you have been selected to join The Golden Vault, a secret organization whose mission is to make sure objects of great power don't fall into the wrong hands. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to embark on a series of adventures to "procure" various items from their original owners and deliver them to our agency where they can be properly sealed away against further misuse. As usual, if you or any of your crew are captured or killed, the agency will disavow any of your actions. This message will self-destruct in 5...4...3...2...!

Gameplay details

We will be running through "Keys from the Golden Vault" so there should be a fair mix of action/combat and puzzles within each adventure. I will have a Free Session 0 before our first game to meet, go over our characters and discuss expectations. The Monte Cook Rpg Consent Checklist will be sent out before this session. I use Roll 20 for sharing maps, tokens and to streamline online combat. We will use Discord to connect via chat/video . The general feel for this adventure should be like playing through a fun/campy heist movie like Mission Impossible or Oceans 11. The stakes will feel real but overall the focus will be on making sure the characters get their chance to shine and that the players (and myself) have a good time! I like to have role play in my games, but if you don't feel comfortable talking in character, that's ok. I am a pretty forgiving DM, just keep the lines of communication open. It will be nice if you have a base understanding of the game mechanics but if you are new that's ok too! Just let me know during the session 0 and I'll do my best to help you figure things out as we go!

How will character creation work

Characters should be level 1 to start. We will be using digital character sheets on DND beyond. Players should make an account before hand if possible. If you don't know how to use DnD Beyond, that's ok, I can show you how to do it during the Session. Players should have a general idea of their character's background and motivations. I will also have a few prompts we can use to help flesh out how the characters know each other.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
