About the adventure

The setting is in Waterdeep and you are all lowly adventurers, or members of the thieves guild "Chronomancers." They recently came into power and drove out the other guilds, but it was only temporary. The guilds that went into hiding are coming back and want to claim what was theirs. It is up to you and your band of newbies to deal with the encroaching thieves guilds and drive them back. The story starts in the Gargoyle's chalice. This bar is unique, but a great spot for adventurers, thieves, and many other occult patrons. If you are looking for non official work, this is the place and you have already found a group of people willing to work with you. What will you find? What will you do? The choice is up to you as you embark on this new journey together. This is going to be a continuous campaign that will allow people to pop in and out, but be ready for combat, mystery, intrigue, and an ever expanding world beyond what you what you currently know. I hope to see you there!

How to prepare

Have a mic, discord, and a roll20 account. You don't need anything else! You should know a little bit of the rules, but if not just be ready to learn over time. I will streamline the rules as much as I can so we can get into you making decisions, fighting, and playing the game. Also, if you wish, having a camera is an option but you don't have to have one.

What I provide

Roll20 has everything we need so you won't need to bring anything. If you have any questions you can ask or look it up online.

Gameplay details

A typical session will involve you getting a job, completing it, or attempting to complete it in whatever manner you see fit. Who you are working for wants results above everything. If you end up killing or bribing your enemies to do what you want that is up to you. Feel free to ask questions in game, but most conversations and actions are done in character. Combat will be as tactical as you want. To start, it will be very simple but it can become more complex later if the group is up for it. Lastly, anyone is welcome! Even if you mess up your character in character creation, you are able to have some leniency to change characters later on so don't panic. We are all here to have fun. Just know that your actions will have weight and decisions will have good or bad consequences.

How will character creation work

Either come with a character concept or be ready to receive a pre-made character. There are 4 pre-made characters for each class, so don't worry too much if you don't have a great character concept. For stats, we will roll 4d6 for each stat (drop the lowest) in session.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
