Themberchaud's Journey

About the adventure

Gracklstugh is in ruins, and Themberchaud has decided it's time to find a new lair! In this episodic campaign of 5e D&D, help the massive, pudgy dragon travel the Underdark to find a new lair! With all the dangers of the Underdark, with the additional danger of potentially angering your big red patron, this will be a journey never to forget! Expect dungeon crawling with humorous roleplay, lighthearted Underdark hijinks, and more than the occasional running screaming for your lives. And, you know, doing everything you can to keep a hundred ton, eternally hungry, supergenius dragon happy. For your own safety.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players should have a Mic, but camera is not needed. And while at least a basic familiarity with the rules is appreciated, it is NOT needed. The Discord being used has a dice bot, so your own dice will not be needed. And if you have a character, simply DM me a copy at the start of Session Zero, and if you don't I have fillable PDF's that can be used to create the character during Session Zero - though I would appreciate it if you have at least one or two ideas before then.

What I provide

On the Discord, I will be providing a dicebot, and streaming the map and other images needed during the game. After the fifth session, I will be providing a Group Portrait of the party to those players who have stuck with it. And after each "episode", I will send the players JPG images of the maps, so they can remember where they have been.

Gameplay details

Session Zero will involve creating the characters if needed, and introducing the group to the situation they find themselves in. If, at any time, you feel uncomfortable just speak up or even just message me. The Death and Violence content warnings are for what would be typical of a high combat D&D campaign, and the Slavery warning is for its presence in many Underdark societies - and will be portrayed as something horriffic.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be done with the Standard Array for stats (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8), any official 5e book content may be used, except for character species that have flight. The characters will begin at 3rd level, and have maximum HP, but will roll HP every level after. Players can either bring their own character (after I've given it a once over), or create it in Session Zero. I don't have a problem with extreme optimization, but there needs to be a suitable personality to the character, and a character who betrays the group or party kills will be given a Blue Bolt of Doom because, while it might be what the character would do, the player made that character, and it takes away the fun from the other players.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
