About the adventure

Take your party through the cold and snowy slopes of Ballast Mountain, where winter never ends. Can your party relight the hearth to end an endless winter, or will the mountain’s wolf demon stop them first? A one-shot for 3-5 characters of 5th level, but can be tweaked to accommodate 2-6 players. This adventure is for new and old players, alike.

How to prepare

I plan to run this game on Roll20, so players should have an account and it is preferred that players have a mic. If players built a character on D&DBeyond, it is highly recommended that they download the Beyond20 extension. Players do not need prior experience or knowledge of the rules.

What I provide

I will be bringing all digital components to make this game a great experience.

Gameplay details

Players should expect a light and fun environment with a patient DM who doesn't mind players asking questions. As written, this adventure is a good mix of combat, exploration and roleplay. Some parts may be cut as time allows. The rating for this adventure ranges between PG and PG-13 depending on the players, but there is no explicit content of any kind. Players should respect each other. No player vs player. Playful banter is ok. Before the game starts, I will go over things like player boundaries, game structure, breaks, etc.

How will character creation work

Player characters should be level 5, but it may differ depending on how may players we have. I can provide pre-generated characters or I can help to guide players through character creation. If we create characters, it should be done before the game, preferably on D&DBeyond.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Beginner
