About the adventure

Maybe Neverwinter isn't right for you, or you think there isn't opportunity for you here, or you feel that you need to get away from the bustle of the city, or you need to get away from something else.... Well now is your chance for a change! Someone has posted a job on the local jobs board. It's pretty simple, transport and guard a wagon to Phandalin. The pay isn't bad (10 gold a person) and it says there is opportunity for further employment afterwards! Phandalin is a rough frontier town built on top of the ruins of an older settlement in the foothills of the Sword mountains along the Sword Coast. It's a full 3 days travel from the city of Neverwinter. Great for a fresh start... If you can handle the dangers of the wilds. I'll be running the module 'Lost Mines of Phandelver' leading into a scaled up 'The Dragon of Icespire Peak' making a level 1-11 adventure using the town of Phandalin as a home base. This will be a great game for players new to D&D or experienced players who missed out on these adventures. I expect this to be a long term game taking around 6 months or more to finish. We will have a free session 0 to go over characters, expectations, safety, and anything else that needs to be covered. If we finish all that early we may get into some gameplay.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a decent microphone and internet connection as well as a computer that is able to use the roll 20 website. We will be using Discord for audio so an account for that will also be needed.

What I provide

I have most of the class option books (PHB, XGoE, TCoE) on roll 20 to give everyone plenty of character options.

Gameplay details

I typically follow pretty close to the rules as written and I try to get at least one combat into every session. I go for a PG13 vibe in my games so there may be drug references, some cursing, and definitely some violence but I will use the Lines and Veils system as well as an card system to keep things from getting out of hand.

How will character creation work

Once you join the roll 20 game I will give you a character sheet on there to build your character with. We will start play at level 1 and we will have time to make characters at the end of session 0, but feel free to talk about your characters with each other in the discord chat. If you are comfortable making a character before session 0 feel free to do so.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
