About the adventure

Things that go bump in the night =============== An ancient warlock king known as the King in Silver, whose patron was Death itself, knew he was growing old and would soon die. The aging king pledged the souls of his two sons, the Black Prince and the Red Prince, to Death in exchange for his own eternal life. As the final words of the pledge passed his lips, the old king collapsed to the ground, dead. Elsewhere in the castle, the two young princes died suddenly in their sleep. All three were interred in the royal crypt within a nearby burial mound. Ultimately, the king got what he asked for—he and his sons were returned to life as fext in the service of Death itself. When the fext awoke and climbed out of their coffins, they were confused because it seemed they were trapped within the small royal crypt. Then, the King in Silver discovered a secret door leading to a hidden stone stair that descended into a complex of ancient tunnels and chambers. At the far end of the complex, the fext discovered a second set of ancient stone stairs leading up through a shaft to a hidden exit on the surface. The three fext now lurk within the lower chambers, doing their patron’s dark bidding. When commanded, they creep forth from the crypt to spread death during the dark of night.

How to prepare

just need discord and mic as this is how I communicate mostly. Please create characters ahead of time so there is a chance to go over it and it does not cut into playtime. Characters can be made via D&D beyond or the Charactermancer in Roll20. I also have a selection of pre-generated characters made if players wish to just jump right in or have a tough time making characters.

How will character creation work

Using Discord and Roll 20 5e Character sheets. I am open to dnd beyond just need a link to the character so I can proof it for mistakes. Mostly use charactermancer in Roll 20. Other Details for this game: Rules of the world: 1: Fumble and Crits are done via cards; i.e., on a Crit or fumble, I draw a card from my deck of crit or fumble. 2: Character Ability rolls are either 5d4, 4d6 drop lowest, or 1d20 take what you get. (formulas in the handout folder. 3: Home-brew is allowed to run it by me first. 4: All players start with 2 healing potions. 5: All players start with 5d10 X 10 gold of gear from the player's Handbook and starting gear. 7: New players start at level 9 currently. 8: Check out handouts for maps/basic D&D rules/ and NPC tidbits 9: Bar1(red): hp Bar2(blue ):passive wisdom Bar3(green) : AC 10: You can change your display name to be your character name in the options (cogwheel to the right of the screen, top right). 11: While on this page, you may buy any items from the Players Handbook without role playing 12: All players get 2 magic items or sets that will be discussed with me.
