About the adventure

If you want to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons or just want to play in a mini campaign / dungeon crawl with your friends, then this is the perfect game for you! A small group of adventurers recently delved into the mysterious depths of the Sunless Citadel in hopes of uncovering hidden treasures. However they never returned. Two human members of that ill-fated party were brother and sister, Talgen and Sharwyn Hucrele. They were part of an important merchant family based in the nearby village of Oakhurst. Kerowyn Hucrele, the matriarch of the family, offers salvage rights to you and your team if you can find and return with the two lost members of her family—or at least return the gold signet rings worn by the missing brother and sister. She also offers a reward of 125 gp per signet ring, per character. If the characters bring back the Hucreles in good shape (of good mind and body), she offers to double the reward. Can the adventurers survive the perils of the Sunless Citadel, find the Hucrele's, and claim the treasures within? Or will they succumb to the darkness and become the latest victims of this mysterious dungeon? THE CAMPAIGN ----------------------------------------- You can expect: 🤝 Social encounters that could drastically effect how the campaign unfolds. ⚔️ Engaging combat scenarios involving a turf war between two rival factions. 🔮 Mystery and intrigue around the strange Sunless Citadel and it's hidden treasures. The campaign will take roughly 6 sessions to complete, with sessions ranging from 2-4 hours long (depending on how long you want the sessions to be). We will have a "session 0" (which you will not be charged for) that will happen at a time agreed upon by the party. Our session 0 will be spent creating characters, going over some basic rules (if need be), and answering any questions you may have regarding the game. I do not require roleplaying your characters in my session, but I think the game is more fun when you embrace the roleplaying aspect of D&D. WHAT I WILL DO ----------------------------------------- I will walk you through the basics of playing (if need be), provide premade characters (unless you want to create your own), and provide a fun and engaging environment to play D&D. I also provide access to almost all of the D&D Beyond compendiums for character creation if you decide to create your own. REQUIREMENTS ----------------------------------------- - D&D Beyond account (free version) - Discord account Besides that, you're set! The best part about using FoundryVTT is that you do not need to buy or download anything! FoundryVTT runs through your browser, so it's super easy to connect and get playing. I've found that Google Chrome works best, but I haven't experienced any major issues using other search engines.

What I provide

I provide visual aids/art, sound effects, animations, and music that are used during our session to create ambience and immersion. My job is to create a fun and safe space that we all enter to become immersed in a world filled with dungeons and dragons.

Gameplay details

🐲 In the world of Dungeons and Dragons, being an adventurer is very dangerous and can lead to situations that involve struggle, combat, and even death. The game is completely controlled by the Game Master, and it is my goal as the Game Master to make sure you are having fun. If I'm running a game for minors or a group that wants a family friendly game session, my content is going to be different than if I'm running a session for adults. 🚫 Before the campaign, we will discuss triggers, uncomfortable or distressing topics, go over Foundry VTT basics, how long we want the sessions to be, and cover expectations for players and me as the GM. If at any time you begin to feel uncomfortable or are confused about something game related, please let me know immediately! Session 0 will be FREE for all players and will cover character creation, some house rules/etiquette, and the beginning of the campaign (if we have enough time). My session 0's are normally very short and can take place at the beginning of session 1 unless scheduled otherwise. If all players show up ready to play and with their characters all set and ready to go, it normally takes about 15 minutes or so to go through session 0 (unless there are some questions, concerns, a need to go over Foundry VTT basics, or problems importing characters that needs to be addressed). For further clarification, if players come prepared with characters already created and ready to go, players will be charged for the first session scheduled since there won't really be much of a session 0, which is meant for helping with character creation, introducing ourselves, and answering questions. ☠️ Combat and death can be described in two different ways depending on the groups decision: It can be described realistically (meaning blood and gore), or can be described simplistically and glossed over (ex. "The goblin falls after your powerful sword strike!"). Other potentially distressing or uncomfortable things like drug use, alcohol, romantic relationships, torture, etc. can be discussed if they have a place in our game sessions or not in "session 0" or at the beginning of session 1 if all players can't make it to session 0. My motto is: "Communication is key when playing D&D." If you have anything that is confusing or rules you're not sure about, please feel free to message me your question or speak up during the game session.
