    About the adventure

Sparks have been struck and the fire of war looms. Bocraikroris the land of the undead and at its heart, the necropolis of Mourntemple, ruled by the Lich Lords. The Pheaphation Empire, created by and ever after the domain of the ancient giant Pheaphate and his brothers. The two sit adjacent from one another on the western edge of the Edhian continent, and what peace has existed there for decades is on the verge of shattering. The borders of the empire report raids of undead fiends against their villages, and the lich lords have denied both their involvement and intent for the raids. There is little love already for the undead, and the threat of imminent death and displacement weighs heavily upon the the giant kings of the empire. With such distrust, is there anything that can be done to quell the sparks of all out war? Perhaps. At least that's the reason that you've been called here. The order of Nurvat, a neutral organization of peacekeeping and balance, has reason to believe that all is not as it seems, or rather that all is not as it has been claimed to be. A group, comprised of representatives from both factions has been called to investigate the ruins of a town that lies along the border of the two nations: Segrete Oscure, once known as Tri-water Respite. Dispatched with an understanding of the seriousness of war, the group is to make their way to the ruined location and see if there is hope for peace... Or just flame for war. An original adventure for D&D 5e that involves investigation, intrigue, difficult choices, and possibly personal conflict.

    How to prepare

All players will need accounts with Discord, Roll20, and DnD Beyond, and a microphone for their chosen device. Roll20 is a browser based service that allows for viewing maps and dice rolls, as well as chat should it be necessary. Discord is for voice and maybe video. You will need a mic and the service can be used in your browser but you should preferably download and install the app for your desktop or device. DnD Beyond is an amazing, and free for players, resource for running games in Dungeons and Dragons and is where we'll be saving and viewing characters. If you're unfamiliar with the rules and mechanics of D&D, there will be a short introduction right as the session begins should it be necessary.

    What I provide

There will be maps for combat used in Roll20 while the rest of the game will be done in the theater of the mind!

    Gameplay details

This game contains elements of intrigue, mystery, and potentially interpersonal conflict that comes from difficult character choices. We will use the "X" card safety technique, as well as the "Script Change" safety tool, allowing players to address potential conflict or overly intense situations when they arise, taking breaks as necessary. If the idea of having in character disputes with your fellow players is not acceptable, this may not be the game for you. Know that if you do choose to play, the space will be kept safe and there will be time to debrief and decompress afterwards. There will be a decent mix of exploration, discovery, and combat, with the potential for a lot of roleplay.

    How will character creation work

This adventure is for characters of level 7, and they will remain at that level throughout. Pre-generated characters will be available with their own stories and backgrounds, and can be viewed and selected to play ahead of the session time. If you're interested in using something unique you've come up with, that can be discussed ahead of the session.

    Players can expect
