About the adventure

The small farming town of Wheedleton is not a place you really visit. It's too far from any main road for travelers to stop there unless they're heading for the sea to the west, and even then Wheedleton tends to escape notice. Until a week ago. A messenger bearing grave news burst into the Adventurer's Guild with a call to aid. A necromancer had all but wiped the town out and the mayor, Thomas Thimblebottom, is offering a great reward to anyone who can slay the foul sorcerer and save what remains of the town. You and the rest of your party set out for Wheedleton within the day, whether for riches or simply to help those in need. As you crest the final hill, you see what remains: a graveyard, several graves open as if waiting for their occupants to return and several half destroyed buildings all that remains. This is a shorter homebrew one-shot dungeon crawl that includes a bit of horror and traps on the side.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a discord account and a working mic, as we'll be using discord to talk You will, if making your own character, need a picture for me to make tokens with, and a general idea of what class you'd like to play A little knowledge of the basics helps, both for dnd and Foundry, but I can give a brief tutorial if needed at the start.

What I provide

I will bring battle maps and the vtt with a couple of the books in the compendium, and I'll type in anything that I don't personally own to make it easier on anyone Voices for npcs that the party might interact with (whether they're good or not is subject to interpretation)

Gameplay details

This will be a One session one-shot Before we start the session, we'll go around and if there's anything a player doesn't want to see I'll write it down and, if needed, remove it from the game. We will take a short break (between 5 and 10 minutes) every 2 hours that we play. At the end of the session, we'll take a few minutes to check up on everyone and see how they're feeling, and get a sense on how everyone thinks the game went before we hop off. If you act rude to the party and belittle or straight up insult anyone, you will be kicked from the game. We're here to have fun, so keep that stuff to yourself. WARNING: The lucky feat will be limited to ONE use per ability check, saving throw or attack roll. Anything officially released is fair game, homebrew will need to be run by me first and I reserve the right to refuse. Matt Mercer stuff is fine as well.

How will character creation work

Party will be 4 or 5 9th level characters Characters themselves can be created anywhere, though I ask that stats be rolled in the Foundry vtt which we'll do just before game starts. I'll also have a few different pre-gen characters for those who don't wish or don't feel comfortable making their own. Health will be decided based on roll or average, whichever is higher per level after 1st

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Open to all
