The Terror at Whitwick

About the adventure

This is horror/mystery-themed 1-shot. As with most of my games, there will be a comedy element within the horror. You and your party find yourselves in a small town near the woods called Whitwick. You can't help but notice that it's extremely quiet, with very few people bustling around. The few people you do see seem to be rather in a hurry to get from one building to the next. After making some inquiries, you begin to discover that the townspeople have been missing one by one in the night. Every manner of horror is suspected, from Witches, to vampires, to cannibals, and even werewolves! Can you save the town of Whitwick before you yourself fall prey to this monster? Characters will be at Lvl 4, and are limited to martial classes. No or low magic users.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a Discord account, a Roll20 account, as well as a camera and a mic. You do not need your own dice, as we'll be able to roll on Roll20, but you're welcome to bring your own dice. I run games under the honor system until/unless I see any need to change it.

What I provide

I will have some maps on Roll20, but most of the game will utilize Theatre of the Mind. I have physical copies of PHB, DMG, MM, and TCoE, as well as DnDBeyond digital copies of XGtE, and TCoE.

Gameplay details

This game contains horror elements, and my include some dark humor. As always in my games, we'll be utilizing X, N, and O cards, as well as Lines and Veils as safety tools. I'm always open to other options for safety and comfort of my players, and I have a full Open Door policy! In line with the StartPlaying terms and conditions, I have a zero tolerance policy for social and sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and hate speech.

How will character creation work

Since it's a 1-shot, there shouldn't be too much time spent on character creation, so that we have time to get into the meat of the game. That being said, I'm always able to assist in character creation, and I will have some pre-generated characters for use if players want to use them!

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
