About the adventure

Whispers and rumors have been filling the taprooms and inns of Hommlet and Nulb. The Temple of Elemental Evil, long thought abandoned after its denizens were defeated, is rising once more. Can your party infiltrate and stop the evil forces inside before the region is thrown into an all-out war? Go back in time to the early editions of D&D with an adventure crafted by Gary Gygax, himself. The adventure has been fully converted to the 5e ruleset, though the encounters and, more importantly, the rewards remain unchanged. Encounters could get deadly, but treasure and magic items await those adventurers brave enough to face them.

How to prepare

Mic required, webcam preferred. You'll be provided with a one-page adventure primer, a social contract and a player survey. A discord and DNDBeyond account (both free) are required. For new players, I will provide a basic rules breakdown and cheat sheet. Please come with a couple of character concepts in mind in case everyone has the same class in mind. A party full of rogues may seem fun, but also may be difficult for you to run.

What I provide

I will supply all digital materials (books, maps). Artwork for encounters and locations will be posted in discord following sessions and each player will have access to a private chat channel with me to discuss character development, triggers, or private notes.

Gameplay details

Mature language, violence, and gore, occult practices. Themes can be dialed down with full party consent.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created in a session 0, starting at level 1. Stats will be 4d6 drop the lowest, reroll 1s once. Rolls can be done player's choice, using virtual tabletop dice, discord dice, DNDBeyond dice, or physical dice with a webcam enabled. All rolls will be witnessed by the DM. Party members should interact with each other on character creation to find common ground to establish a reason for being together.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
