About the adventure

The whole town has been holding its breath waiting for the expedition team to return, but as the sun sets, the truth becomes apparent. They aren't coming back. The expedition has been gone for three days now, disappeared into an ancient fortress buried hundreds of feet underground. Amid all of the town's misfortunes (blighted crops, dead livestock, and missing traveler's) they feel they cannot afford to risk any more of their own on a rescue mission. So, the families of the missing are quick to come to you, an out-of-towner, with an offer: Gold in exchange for the remains. The deal is simple. You must follow the tracks of the expedition team into the ruins of the old citadel. You are to find the remains of the unfortunate adventurers who set out before you, and if you're lucky, you'll also find the answers that they were looking for. This game is intended for all experience levels, but great for introducing beginner players to Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. We will be playing the adventure "The Sunless Citadel" by Wizards of the Coast. This game will likely run for 4-6 sessions lasting around 4 hours each. Over the course of this short campaign you will learn the basics of roleplay, exploration, combat, and using your character sheet. Your characters will start the game at level one, but will gain experience quickly, and end the story at level three. This game is great for beginners, but all experience levels are welcome! Expect plenty of action, tension, and, of course, magic!
