    About the adventure

The Silver Daggers used to be a adventurer's Guild of some renown but it has fallen on hard times lately what with the war and all. These days they'll take on just about anybody who'll sign up for a life of "adventure and discovery". Not a bad place to start for someone who has nothing or for someone who wants a fresh start. The faster an assignment is completed, the larger the portion of the bounty is paid out. Would you like to investigate what assignments are currently on offer? This is an emergent story game setting. At the start all you will really know, is the name of the town you start in and the immediate surrounding area and anywhere mentioned in player backstories. We build from there. The mercenary guild is the focal point for our start. If you're into it, you could take it over, build it back up to its glory days, or if you'd rather pursue personal leads all over the world, then that's where the story takes us. **This is the game to bring that one character you've never been able to fit into any other settings. We will make them fit here!**

    How to prepare

Mic only. Please setup a free profile on Discord and on Roll20 if you haven't already. DM me on Discord about Class preferences and concept. I will want to know the following about your characters so keep it in mind: Where are they from? Why did they leave? Why are they signing up with the Silver Daggers? What is their problem. (Think of it as a question from a viewer of a TV show: "Why should I care about this character?" What is their long-term goal? (Where do they see themselves five years down the road?) What is the next thing (short term goal) they want to get done? **Most importantly:** How is this character going to be helpful to the group and what motivates this character to keep the group together and alive.

    What I provide

I will have a Discord server setup for this game where extraneous notes can be kept and where out-of-game discussions can be had. There will also be a game prepared on Roll20 which will have character sheets available to you with access to the PHB, Xanathar's. Tasha's. Volo's and more. We will be rolling stats together! You will get a link to that game at the start of the Session zero. Any UA or homebrew setups must be approved before game start.

    Gameplay details

This will be a game heavily weighted toward exploration and adventure. I envision that the first few months will be quite lighthearted and adventurous as we get to know the characters, the guild's NPCs, the area and its people. As we begin to dig into backstories and attempting to resolve the goals of the characters things will get darker as it becomes clear that an unseen hand has been behind certain events and that it isn't finished working toward some nebulous but no doubt dark and dangerous goal.

    How will character creation work

Play starts at lvl 1. There are a couple of ways we can roll stats, it depends on the consensus at the table. That decision is made at session zero but in general it comes down to how much idiosyncracy you want in your characters (high peaks and low valleys for example) and how easy you want the game to be for you.

    Players can expect

    • Combat/Tactics: Medium
    • Roleplay: Medium
