The Shards of the Ancients: Chapter One-The Crystal of Melora
Dungeons & Dragons 5e on ...
Price per player-session
Duration: 4 to 5 hours
Number of players: 2 to 6 players
Experience required: None
About the adventure
You have been summoned to the town of Orinshire in the easternmost realm by the Shimmering Sea. The enchantress, Lady Elaina, implores you to rescue her daughter and recover a most precious gem with powers you can only imagine. In exchange, keep the other treasures you find, but return the daughter and the gem to her before it is too late. This is chapter one of the ongoing campaign "The Shards of the Ancients".
How to prepare
Players will need Discord and a headphone or mic. They will need a character sheet from DnDBeyond. Theatre of the Mind will be our initial gaming process where I describe scenarios and you determine your players actions/responses. It is my hope to eventually include a visual map with tokens of where characters and enemies are in proximity with one another, however, not initially as I must become more familiar with these digital programs.
What I provide
I will have dice available both physical and digital and can roll for players or allow them to roll at home as needed if the Beyond20 digital dice don't work for them.
Play will be Medieval Dungeons & Dragons style with a mix of story, interactive rollplaying with Non-Player Characters and comrads in other players. Also about 1/3 will be battling creatures like goblins, hobgoblins, rats, spiders and various more advanced creatures on a mission searching for treasure, confronting evil and a quest to recover the stolen and lost. I encourage players after a brief introduction to one another to remain in character by using Medieval dialog among one another. There will be a small mix of puzzles or riddles. No experience necessary.

How will character creation work
This is an online game. I hope to consult privately with each player regarding their DnDBeyond character (Starting with level 1 and 1 class initially). This is called "session zero" and is required before playing the game. Upon game start, there will be an introduction of the players as themselves (such as your first name, where you are from, your experience, likes and dislikes about rpgs.) We will do an overview of how to play and the process of how to roll the dice online. Then I will open the story with a description of your environment.
