About the adventure

Welcome to Ankh-Morpork, the thriving and chaotic city that lies at the heart of the Discworld! In the shadows of its twisted alleys and crooked streets, you'll find the Cable Street Particulars, a detective agency like no other. This motley crew of investigators, spies, and informants are dedicated to solving the city's most baffling and dangerous mysteries – the ones that nobody else can or will handle. As a member of the Cable Street Particulars, you'll find yourself embroiled in a world of intrigue, betrayal, and danger. Your investigations will take you into the manky underbelly of the city, where you'll face off against gangs, cults, golem postmen, criminal organisations, dragons, things from the Dungeon Dimensions, big black dogs with orange eyebrows, and Mrs Cake. You'll need to use your wits and your skills to gather information, follow leads, and solve puzzles that will lead you to the heart of the city's darkest secrets. But the Cable Street Particulars aren't the only organisation operating in Ankh-Morpork. You'll also find yourself competing with other guilds and factions, each with their own agenda and their own secrets to keep. Will you be able to navigate the complex web of alliances and betrayals that make up the city's underworld, or will you fall prey to its many dangers? With the fate of Ankh-Morpork hanging in the balance, the members of the Cable Street Particulars must work together to unravel the mysteries that threaten to tear the city apart. Will you rise to the challenge and prove yourself a true hero, or will you fall victim to the many perils of the city? The fate of the Discworld could be in your hands! (This campaign is aimed at D&D-playing Discworld fans both old and new. Campaign is ideal for weekly or fortnightly sessions. Playstyle is a rules-lite approach focused on story flow. This game is suited to both new and experienced TTRPG players.)

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need a webcam and mic. You will also need any app capable of editing PDFs during the character creation parts, and later to make updates to your character sheets. If you are making use of one of the Discworld premium class options and/or the homebrew classes, please make sure you know at least the homebrew rules for your own race/class. All materials will be supplied.

What I provide

We will mainly be using the Owlbear Rodeo built-in dice rolling tray, but physical dice are fine as long as you have a webcam to show the rolls. I usually create pixel art of my characters in the Reroll app. The maps we play on will also be available for players to download and study.

Gameplay details

Players should expect a rules-light roleplay-focused game that rewards roleplay without sacrificing action. Players will be solving murder mysteries and saving lives in a satirical fantasy world. Session Zero will include character building if players need assistance with lore-friendly builds. Consent forms will also be filled out and discussed during character building/Session Zero. Debriefings will be done after each session. Aftercare will be done in the days following a session, where I will check in with the players and provide support as appropriate.

How will character creation work

Characters will mainly be built using the SRD/PHB, albeit with some homebrew rules which will be supplied. Fillable PDFs will be supplied for character sheet creation. If players are familiar with the Discworld universe, they can build their own characters for the most part, provided you check with the GM beforehand. Players new to either DnD or Discworld should consult with the GM before character building, as there are several lore-friendly as well as some lore-forbidden race- and class options.
