About the adventure

An old-school style homebrew sandbox module based on classic 1st edition mods like Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh and Village of Hommlet. While this game can be run as a one-off or three session adventure, the events of the initial action have far-reaching consequences, and some playtests for the game have now run upwards of 200 sessions. This module is great for beginners who want to capture some of the flavor of old school D&D, but experienced gamers love the vintage vibe as well. The game has been adapted for both first and fifth edition, and comes with a ton of pre-rolled characters specifically adapted with detailed backgrounds for the storyline and challenges. Full of vintage D&D monsters, and Tolkienesque tropes drawn from classic high fantasy. This game is played over Zoom with a graphic rendering map system for real time combat with miniatures. Tons of great homemade maps make for an immersive combat feel that puts you in the action.

How will character creation work

Pre-existing characters complete with backstory are available for the game in both 1st Edition and 5th Edition format. Although you are welcome to craft your own characters, in playtesting, the pre-made characters have been universally preferred by players. If crafted beforehand, please send a copy of your character in PDF format, (preferably D&D Beyond if 5th Edition rules are used).
