About the adventure

Las Vegas, the brightest star on Earth, is divided into two realms. The world of the mortals who live in light, and the supernatural contained within the shadows. While mortals gamble away money, drink themselves comatose, and play meaningless games, the supernatural play similar games with higher stakes. Power, magic, souls, kingdoms, the cosmic balance… Everything is on the line. And on the throne of this gambling paradise is one woman, Yuki Devas. Interdimensionally renowned as the “Gambling Queen”, her presence and power influences every bet and game within her realm. It’s said that a single bet with Yuki has the power to build your entire future or cause you to lose everything you’ve ever loved. But when the all-powerful Gambling Queen disappears, the city is thrown into chaos. With the shadows threatening to spill into the light and beyond the boundaries of the Strip, Yuki’s closest advisor has called upon your team. Find and bring Yuki Devas home, or prepare for the worst to come.

How to prepare

Players will need a webcam and mic. Dice and character sheets will be maintained via a Roll20. Games will occur over Zoom, with the Discord being used for offline organization. Please make sure you have a Roll20 account, a Discord account, and a microphone and webcam. A laptop camera and headphone mic is more than acceptable for this game. All players must abide by the safety tools in place. If there are any questions or issues, please direct them to myself.

Gameplay details

The players will be playing characters who are a part of Las Vegas’s supernatural community. Whether you’ve been involved in a ton of betting, or you’ve never made a single bet, the choice is up to you. The supernatural sits in a delicate balance within Las Vegas. Mortals are unaware of the things that go bump in the night, and keeping it that way is essential. Should that truth ever be revealed in a large-scale, the consequences would be world-changing. Your group is one that has dealt with these issues before, but on a smaller scale. Normally it’s just a small monster who’s gotten loose and you need to hunt it down. This is different. Everyone in town has been talking about the disappearance of Yuki, and her disappearance has already started to create ripples within the city. CW: Monsters, Horror, Mystery, Kidnapping, Gambling, Deals The Safety Tools in use for this game are "Lines & Veils", "Stars & Wishes", "X,N,O Cards", and "Open-Door Policy". Session 0 will include a dedicated explanation of those safety tools for all players.

How will character creation work

Character creation will occur via a private Discord. Most character creation will happen privately, but there will be a Session 0 that is held to establish team/character history. Characters do not need to be fully created by Session 0, but a character concept is necessary. Session 0 is a free session of the game that players will not be charged for, but are required to attend. Topics will include character creation, a little bit of lore, and safety tools.
