About the adventure

I want to run a classic Rifts RPG Adventure with a group of players exploring the wilderness, encountering the ruins of a lost civilization and battling monsters from their deepest nightmares. I've been running the Rifts RPG since the dawn of the game (back in 1990) and I'm itching to get back into that world. If you're looking to do something different than just another cookie cutter 5E adventure, like everyone else is running, then I promise an experience like no other. This campaign will focus on the core North American sourcebooks and Players will be free to select (almost) any characters they like with a focus on being mortal. I am very adaptable and deliver a unique story that is crafted to the party composition so how the story evolves will be based on the characters you choose to play. The first four sessions will be free (this includes a Session 0 for character creation) and everyone can choose whether or not to continue after that at regular price.

How to prepare

Players should have a web cam and quality microphone (so that we can all understand each other). I distrust dice generators so I am very OK with people rolling real dice. The honor system is fine as long as everyone sticks to it (I expect to see people own up to some Fumbles). It is not necessary that you actually own a copy of the Core Book (or any of the sourcebooks) as I have every book we need and can share content easily over Discord. If you feel you need digital books, all of the books I plan to use are available on Drive Thru RPG at reasonable prices.

What I provide

I have dice, a huge Rifts RPG Library, a rig to view battle maps and several dozen custom miniatures I built of classic Rifts character classes. I also have hundreds of minis that I can use to stage battles depending on what the party chooses to do.

Gameplay details

I like to play it a bit loose with a focus on story & fun over a strict adherence to the rules. I do have my own unique way of running the system that does include some house rules but I am very experienced with the system and expert in the rules (I have read every book on my shelf, cover to cover, at least 3 times). I know when to draw the line on the rules and when to let something slide because the Player experience is more important. I want to have a good time and that means YOU have to also enjoy the game. My storytelling style focuses on the Player experience and what characters are actually created so I can't give any solid storyline details until I know what characters will be chosen. I also feel like the content warnings I selected read more like a sales pitch for the game so be prepared for some no holds barred action & adventure. I'm also really good with new players so don't hesitate to jump in if you've never played Rifts before.

How will character creation work

Character Creation will occur during Session 0. I will assist Players with the process and plan to generate Word Documents with all of the details for each Character. If anyone is familiar with the game and plans to fill out their own sheet, this is also acceptable as long as I am able to review (and understand) the finished document.

  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Medium
