About the adventure

Adventurers far and wide, please come to the aid of the Rat King! From the distant land of Rodentia, the King of the Rats calls on the aid of mighty heroes to help him save his crumbling throne. According to his calls, each of the King's three sons have been afflicted by a terrible curse, causing them to all rebel against the King. It is the job of those who accept the call to protect the Rat King as his Castle is besieged. This Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition one-shot will be played theater of the mind over Discord. This session will absolutely get goofy, so be prepared to enter it with comedy at the forefront of your mind! Characters will be Level 5, and while I like sticking to the rules for character creation presented in WotC published materials, I am all for flavor, especially in this kingdom of rodent people!

How to prepare

No webcam required, but a microphone and Discord account are required! I trust players to roll with their own dice if they desire, but I make sure that every Discord server I run on has a good Dice Bot for both myself and players to use.

What I provide

I bring with me all of the core 5e rulebooks, which means that if anyone wants to work with content from WotC publications that they don't own, I'm more than happy to walk people through those materials!

Gameplay details

Once I confirm a player for a session/campaign, the first thing I do is send a Lines and Veils survey for them to fill out, the results of which I will send to the players before starting, AND read out before starting each session. For aftercare, I like to keep things relatively open, but will around the virtual table to ask players things that they enjoyed/didn't enjoy; namely, aspects of both the GMing style AND player choices that enjoyed, and if anything made them uncomfortable.

How will character creation work

Characters will be Level 5, and should be mostly created before the session. However, I am always more than happy to answer questions and help out however a player wants with character creation. Most of my materials are physical, rather than on D&DBeyond, so I trust players to make their characters wherever and in whatever way works best for them. I'm more than happy to give supplies where I can, though!
