About the adventure

Ever want a pirating, swashbuckling, or seafaring campaign? With either the choice to plunder or to strive to stop those doing it? Or if you've always wanted to experience worlds like Sinbad, Pirates of the Caribbean, One Piece, or Treasure Planet, this world is for you! This entirely Homebrew world of my creation rides the theme of territory and factions. Many islands still have yet to be uncovered and each factions have their own code they live by. Choose to help the Rocofra Navy from Casa Frontera develop technology to ward off the pirate pests, or align yourself with the tenets of a clan as they pursue their purpose, or even take the middle ground as you seek other alternatives. Below are brief descriptions of each Clan: ROCOFRA NAVY - Protectors of the Rocofra Mainland who base in Casa Frontera. This city is home to educational guilds mostly in the realm of magic and artifice, although still contains education centers for other trades. 100 years ago, the city was settled as an adventurers guild that was tasked to be the first to set out among the islands. While these treks allowed for settlements to be set up along the island chain, they also caused some turmoil as they unearthed ancient magics and met terrifying beasts. The Rocofra Navy wishes to ward off these dangers that were unleashed as well as protect the further advancement of their region. KUCHELEL CLAN - Pirates that revel in self-indulgence. They pride themselves in power and strength, knowing that the strongest will survive and only the living make the rules. They are said to harbor a Blue Dragon that grants them abilities and protection in exchange for portions of their plunder. Those in charge here earned their place by blood, and are ambitiously pursuing more. SAMSARA CLAN - A clan that owns a very different mindset, and by default, a very socialistic lifestyle. What is important to them is not money or power, but peace. They yearn for a world without war and wish to vanquish and rid the plane of those that pursue it. "We must play by the rules of violence until we can create a world without it". They are known to pirate other ships and take them back to their island for 'Realignment'. They do not follow any Gods because "If they are at war, why should we follow them?" They are kind, but will never be taken advantage of. RECUSANT CLAN - The classic 'take from the rich and give to the poor' type of clan. They are angelic messengers to the minority groups of the Tamben islands but consistent annoyances to the Rocofra Navy. They work to place power back into the hands of the indigenous or native inhabitants of the islands. They are a smaller clan, but very influential due to their charismatic nature. They have many friends in low places. KABAN CLAN - Collectors and archeologists turn pirates and treasure hunters. With so much magic and unknown features among the islands, there is so much to unearth and uncover. They believe information should be shared and open for everyone, however they trust only themselves to offer that service. They both deeply explore the island chains past, as well as find other ships that harbor powerful and magical artifacts and have no remorse in taking them. WATCHER CLAN - Not much is known about this clan as it is shrouded in mystery. They are the only clan that ventures far into the Dead Zone, and are even known to protect that portion of the sea from other wandering vessels. If they don't get them on the way in, they will be found on the way out. It is said that they act as a guard to some sort of entity or power, however is it to keep something from getting out, or keeping others from getting in? With different zones, islands, weather features, and magical realms, every adventure will be different, and each story very unique. Come with me as we turn the tide of this world and sail into green sunsets!

How to prepare

Mic required, webcam preferred. I enjoy looking at actual human beings when I roleplay with them. Bring dice, notebooks, and your have your character already created in DnDBeyond (links will be in discord). Please bring your best selves as problem players will not be tolerated. We want a fun game for everyone! If you have questions about the rules, how to navigate your character sheet, or other general inquiries, you can ask them in the discord. You will be invited to the discord upon signing up for the game.

What I provide

Unique maps through Owlbear Rodeo. You can send pictures of your character through discord for play tokens or one can be provided to you.

Gameplay details

Each game will be an even mix of exploration, roleplay, and combat. Depending on the adventure, this campaign can involve, but not limited to, gothic/eldritch horror, manipulation and oppression themes, human experimentation, moral ambiguity, world consequences, and betrayal. If there are themes that a player does not feel comfortable experiencing, these need to be made known to me before the session so I can avoid them. At any time during the game something is triggering, there will be the ability to state such via chat or cards.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be done on DnDBeyond. The player will be invited to a discord for the game where they can discuss questions about the campaign or character creation. Here it is discussed which clan everyone wants to affiliate with (everyone will be from one clan) as well as the perks that go with it. Characters will be made according to the affiliate clan. Link to the campaign will be in the discord as well. It is expected the characters to be finished by the time session begins. The characters will be at level 5. Creating a backstory in advance will give me opportunity (but not guarantee) to tie it into the one-shot.

Players can expect
