About the adventure

Magic has retreated from the world. That's not to say that there is no magic, of course, but it has lost that wonder and potency that it once possessed. Travel the realm of Aronia as a wanderer, seeing wondrous sights and befriending strange creatures. Perhaps, in time, you can make friends and restore the lost magic. This setting is one that emphasizes friendship, light-heartedness, and travel over all else. There are, of course, nation-states and kingdoms within the boundaries of the continent of Aronia. The mighty Ehrvast Empire to the West is one that favors political dominance and power above all else. The peaceful Selyan Kingdom is led by a dying monarchy, devoted to older ways of thinking. Meanwhile, the Dragonian Alliance is a conglomeration of city-states led by merchant kings that each vie for power to be brought to their homelands. All the while the natural world remains in peril as magic slowly retreats and the ancestral guardian creatures lose their sway within the world around them. Monsters have begun to creep back into civilized lands and they harry and attack travelers along the trade routes and in the wilds. --------------------------------------------------------- Conflict comes in many forms. From disagreements about what's for dinner, to trading blows with brigands along the road. I tend to vary my conflict into different types of drama. I find that a fishing derby can have just as high stakes as a swordfight, so long as the set-up is done properly!

How to prepare

Please have a microphone and webcam! You don't need a streamer's set-up, but having a passable mic and video feed will go a long way to ensuring that your and everyone else have a positive experience with maximized communication. I expect players will bring their own dice, or have access to a dice-rolling app. I also expect players will bring their own paper and pen(cil) or other note-taking implements. I expect you each to bring your character sheet along, as well (whether digital or printed).

What I provide

I provide the setting, the theatre-of-the-mind gameplay, and, on occasion, maps or other digital assets.

Gameplay details

My players can expect a flexible and accommodating gameplay style. I will also teach players how to play, as needed, so no real experience is required! Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn and have fun!

How will character creation work

I will go over basics of character creation during a discord/zoom call. As we draw close to the game date, I will be available to assist with final details or additional help for creation. By the day of the game, I expect character sheets to have been completed and turned in to me for review.
