About the adventure

In this session using Retrostar, a tabletop RPG created by Spectrum Games, participants will take part in a special Deges & Dragons event. Players will take on the roles of a nuclear family who was upgraded with cybernetics after an accident. You won't simply be roleplaying a standard sci-fi game. You're actually actors on a television series that aired during the 70s! Tabletop games come in all genres, depths, age levels, etc. We believe those unique factors can have different therapeutic benefits. We'll roleplay the joys of a cheesy sci-fi show while examining the game structure and applicability to group treatment. Session will be run via Zoom and recorded by Presenters.

How to prepare

Players will require a webcam and mic to participate. Players will be taught the rules of the game and create characters as part of the session. Players will need 6 sided dice to play (ideally 6 or using a website to roll is fine) and to print out the free downloads for the game. What I provide

The GM will use a website for dice, but players will be using their own materials at home to play.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a lot of silly roleplaying. Rules are designed for progressive narrative and combat experiences, but also emphasizes inclusion. Violence is involved in defeating villains, but is simulated as something appropriate for cable during the 70s. Players are encouraged to cross their arms into an X should they feel uncomfortable.

How will character creation work

This game is simulating a scripted television show and therefor has characters written for it. Players will create the actors who are cast into the roles written by the showrunner.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
