About the adventure

Crisp golden leaves litter the ground of the small town of Waymoot; Autumn is truly here (finally!) and your party is ready for the festivities the change of seasons promises. Tavern gossip led our characters here in the hopes of splashing some newly earned cash on some candied apples and sweetcakes - but your arrival is accompanied by that familiar knot in your stomach: your adventurer-sense tingles! There was a fête here, certainly - brightly bannered wagons are spread out in the town square, and are connected by autumnal bunting - but there are no festival-goers. No townspeople. Your eyes are drawn to an immaculate, colourfully painted caravan parked centre stage, with signage that reads "Tasha's Kiss - free admission!". About this game: This is a one-shot written by Remley Farr & Jeff C. Stevens. Originally written as a trilogy, I will be adapting and running two of the three modules as one-shots for spooky season! Feel free to rock up to either game - no prior knowledge required - for some truly gruesome encounters. Characters will be level 5. Additional Details

How to prepare

Having a Discord account, a roll20 account and character. A working microphone and stable internet connection. Some familiarity with D&D helps but I'm happy to introduce newer players. A camera would be nice but is not required.

What I provide

Offline access to all official D&D sources, safety tools, immersive voice acting, the adventure and a mix of goofiness and serious gameplay!

Gameplay details

This game will be played on roll20 with discord for voice. Video is always nice but not required. Voice is required, as is a (at least fairly) stable internet connection. The session could last between 3-5hrs, with the option to speed things along if we find ourselves running behind but wanting a resolution. We'll have a couple of short bio breaks during this time. This particular module involves lots of exploration, some character background searching and some horrible creatures! We will be using (anonymous) X cards via macros in roll20, alongside an adapted google form of the Monte Cook Games Consent in RPG checklist. I personally do not include the following in any games I run: Harm to children Spiders Homophobia/Racism Cancer Abortion Self-harm Sexual assault/manipulation This module includes (but I can be flexible to some extent): Body horror Gore Blood Magical coercion Clowns

How will character creation work

A roll20 game will be made - optional D&D Beyond integration (Beyond 20) is allowed, though my personal D&D Beyond collection is limited. :) Please come to the session with a character made. Since this is a one-shot there won't be a session 0; we will take time to outline what to expect from the game at the start of the session and I'll make a group discord chat for players to chat in the run-up to the game :) This is a level 5 game. Allowed sources are the following: PhB, XgtE, TCoE, VGtM. Any other content might be allowed on case-by-case basis. I am happy to provide some guidance on character creation for new players.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
